“surely the best b&b in Tavistock”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

I kid you not this is one of the best b&b`s I have stayed in .
Andy could not do enough for us. Welcome cup of tea & flapjack.
Great décor, really comfortable rooms( all very modern) suggestions on where to eat, marvellous breakfast, and Tavistock is charming.

I stayed here for 2 nights, and in every way, it is delightfully scrumptious, down to every last detail.
Andy and Jayne, and their blue eyed bundle, are a lovely welcoming family, and very relaxed and helpful.
I have to mention the hens in their garden..probably the happiest hens in the land, and their eggs, reflecting that...Truly scrumptious...That's all I can say really..and Thank you.

Having stayed with Jane and Andy previously this is our obvious choice. The cleanlinest is second to none and the welcome outstanding. It is a beautiful house with tasteful decor and a lot of thought and hard work has been used to provide this superb accommodation. The lounge is very relaxing with excellent small touches to make us feel so welcome. The eggs laid by their own chickens and fresh fruit salad at breakfast are always something to look forward to. We will return. J & M Bowen

I received a very friendly welcome after a long day travelling. Andy was superb, as was his wife Jayne. I thought the fresh eggs laid by the chickens in the garden a wonderful touch and breakfast an enjoyable experience. The room was very comfortable and the decor of this B & B was extremely tasteful. As a first B & B experience it has set a benchmark! I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone as a most friendly and welcoming place to stay and should I visit Tavistock again, I will certainly try to book into the Apple Tree.

Arrived and was welcomed by Andy who once he had shown us to our room offered us a cup of tea which was most welcome after our longish drive. Both Andy and his wife Jayne made us really welcome over the couple of days we stayed. There was a very relaxed atmosphere about the place. The bedroom was spotless and very comfortable. The room was at the top of the house and we had use of a private bathroom 3 steps away. My only quibble was the bathroom was a bit tight and there was no shelf to put anything on which as a glasses wearer is a must for me! However this is not enough to put me off staying again and in fact I look forward to doing so in the future. Breakfast was lovely made even better by the eggs which came from their chickens in the back garden. I rate this as one of the best B&B's I have stayed in recently and would recommend it to anyone who would like a relaxed break in Devon. A great find.

Andy and Jayne have really set the benchmark when it comes to running a B&B. This lovely young couple made us feel incredibly welcome and have clearly put a lot of thought into providing an amazing experience for their guests. Whilst Andy's mum checked us in, Andy called us to make sure we had settled in which was appreciated as it added a real personal touch to our stay. Loved the theme throughout the house of the green apple trademark which is a professional touch, the breakfast was delicious and the bed was huge and without a doubt the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! The bathroom in room 2 is a little squashy but they've made brilliant use of the space. Would love to return here one day!

Arrived wet and tired after cycling across Dartmoor in the rain. Met with a smile and a cup of tea. The room was splendid, beautifully decorated and very spacious. Plenty of hot water, a long soak in the stylish bath and wet cycling gear happily dried off by a most welcoming and friendly host. Breakfast was a relaxed and sumptuous affair and made getting on the bike again for the final push to Plymouth that much harder. A lovely, welcoming, comfortable place to stay and a lovely family, especially baby D, to stay with. Highly recommended.
