“Welcoming, friendly, beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2010

We only stayed for one weekend, but found the proprieter (Shelia) to be most welcoming, providing us with local advice, sumptious food, as well as clean and fresh rooms furnished with mini luxuries such as champagne, truffles, and high quality toiletries. The view from the bedroom was as we'd hoped too, right out onto the moor on which we walked and moutain biked both days. We're vegetarians - no problem for this B&B and yes suitable chocolate cake and flapjacks were provided too! We had a great time and will be returning later in the year. Thanks Sheila!

The owner (Sheila) was very welcoming, providing tea and home made chocolate cake when we arrived. The room we had was excellent (double en-suite) overlooking the moor.

Breakfast was brilliant quality and enough to feed a small army. We were even given flapjacks to take with us on our walk.

We are given a tour of the property including the annex, which looks like a good place for a family or small group of friends to stay.

We walked from the cottage straight onto the moors and up the top of the hill then around to the nearby villages. It was great to be able to step straight out onto the moor.

We are looking forward to returning in another season.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2009

Spent 3 days here with wife after arriving from Australia. Host provided us with a chocolate cake on our arrival. On returning home the next day found the cake missing from our cottage as the owner had decided to sneak in and take it back and then give the remainder to other guests. Strange that. Overall a well furnished cottage with nice bed and linen. The lounge is a futon type and rather uncomfortable and the tv is rather small with poor reception.
Beautiful location on the edge of the moors but not within walking distance of anything.
