“Lovely Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2014

We have come here on a number of occasions now both with our Children and also on our own as a couple .
The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed , very cosy in winter with the fire burning away and child friendly which is always a Big plus in my book !
There's a good choice of food and everything has always been to a high standard .. I Cannot pick just one meal as they have all been so nice .. Puddings are gorgeous too ! The Staff are always very welcoming and friendly . Sunday Lunches are very good and you can also choose a 2 or 3 course menu with 3 or 4 options for starter , main and Dessert which we sometimes like to get . All in all well worth a visit !

“Fantastic service from Mark”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014 via mobile

Part of a large party on a Thursday evening, we were looked after by Mark who was absolutley fantastic. Nothing too much trouble, friendly, efficient, kept us topped with drinks all night. Only disappointment was black and blue steak, topping was dry and minuscule and the steak very fatty, however all those who had pies didn't leave a scrap and said they were delicious, as were the other mains. Will definatley visit again.

“welcoming atmosphere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

We came to The Green Dragon after a recommendation by a friend. First impressions are of a welcoming and comfortable room, full of smiling diners. It looks good. There was a log fire.
The service was inexperienced but charming. The bar, for such a big pub, seemed limited. No-one had heard of a Kir and it is after all only white wine and blackcurrant liqueur.
The food was very mixed. A friend chose a pie, and that was clearly the best thing to do. My very dry haddock in batter had only a thin coating of batter, so flat it was hardly there. Rhubarb brulée tasted like something made from a packet mix. Somehow everything -except the pie --just fell short of being good. Perhaps we were just unlucky. But I don't feel inclined to try it again. Life is too short to stay with the mediocre. There is so much choice around.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014

Me and my girlfriend visit regularly the green dragon (1x a week).
The staff is friendly, the pub is always clean and the atmosphere is brilliant. Fish pies are the best!
Thank you for your welcoming

“Wonderful cuisine in a welcoming and lovely relaxed atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

This is the most welcoming of venues, it's excellent host Gavin and his team have really done well making this one of the best pub restaurants in the area, comfortable, warm and with an old world charm that exudes an atmosphere of coziness, especially on a winters night. The food is second to none and my choice this night of pork belly with black pudding complemented by a large glass of the smoothest Rioja and followed by a naughty double chocolate dessert was absolutely delicious. A lovely place with lovely people that I am so very happy to recommend.
