“A bit of contryside U. K. taste during business trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

I stayed at this hotel for two nights on business. This was my Weybridge-based friend's recommendationt. After a couple of days staying at modern but business-like hotels, this hotel gave me a pleasant feeling of traditional countryhouse in U. K. I was excited to come back there after work to enjoy good traditional meals at the hotel restaurant. I also wanted to drink and eat at the hotel pub, but maybe next time. The hotel staff was kind and friendly, and the room was big enough for me. Nice bathroom too. The only negative side was the internet connection. It was slow and frequently disconnected. Perhaps I should have worked at the lobby, but did not feel like doing so in the middle of night. The views from the brekfast room in the morning was just gorgeous. I could even see a fox runnig around the garden. I would definitely selct this again in my next visit to Weybridge.

Room Tip: Some of my colleagues got rooms very far from the lobby and the restaurant, and the way to the rooms...

This place has been a hotel for about 150 years, and it shows everywhere (good and bad). There is lots of "Ye Olde English" atmosphere if you're into that thing.

Some rooms were renovated recently, others are long overdue for a makeover so your experience really depends on where you end up (myself i always ask for a room in the Tudor wing).

A good selection of restaurants and bars is close by (10min walk down York road to Queens road).

But where the hotel really lets me down is at breakfast. The scrambled eggs look (and taste) like snot, the selection of breads is non-existant and the fruit is canned. Staff are visibly stressed out at busy times. If the manager reads this: Stay at the Brooklands for a night and learn how to do breakfast properly!

Room Tip: Tudor wing is closest to entrance, but the lift is tiny and rickety...

Stayed here first night after wedding. Room was well equipped and comfy, another wedding party was using the hotel so it was busy for breakfast but that's no criticism.
I would recommend and particularly enjoyed the grounds.

We stayed for only one night but were very pleased with every aspect of our visit. On arrival we were impressed by the charm of the building and the ample parking space. The lounge/bar area is relaxing and attractively furnished and our large ,well-cleaned room was well appointed.
Staff were invariably friendly, polite and helpful.
The evening meal, while not scintillating, was pleasant and probably better than that of many similarly priced hotels-we felt it was good value for money and the breakfast was very good. We had had a long drive to get there and faced a similar drive the next day. Our stay at The Oatlands meant we were fully relaxed when continuing our journey.
If we are ever in the area again The Oatlands will certainly be our first choice.

Room Tip: A higher floor is probably more desirable-floorboards in rooms above tend to creak!

I've stayed at the Oatlands Park Hotel as a base for a workshop, and enjoyed very much my staying. The rooms, even a little outadted, are very charming and warm. The breakfast and the lunch are very good, and the internet is free! (both in the rooms and the lobby, cable in the first, wifi in the second). Very friendly staff.

The room was tiny and outdated. Terrible selection on tv channels and considering how much drinks are tv is all you have after dinner. Staff were inconstant, some so friendly and others didn't have the time of day for you. I waited an hour for my dinner of rogan josh too. Holiday in is cheaper and more comfortable. Also my rotton window fell off it's runners TWICE

Stayed at Oatlands again for dinner/dance that evening, staff were fantastic as usual and hotel is superb, took my parents who are fussy and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and love sitting in reception and having a drink or tea and cakes, lovely hotel for any occassion, with fmily, friends or business.
