There has been a surprising amount of discussion in the Express & Star food review regarding which is the best "Indian" in Wombourne with the supporters of the Wombourne Tandoori probably being the most vociferous. Having now having eaten at both, my preference is for Tiffus for the simple reason that there is very little to criticise apart from the slight draft from the front door if you are seated near it.
It's not the cheapest bring your own balti I have been to but you do get a little more for your money and you can see a bit of effort and thought has gone in to the food. This is perhaps not surprising as their sister restaurant is also prbably the most popular in its area.
Normally I describe the dishes and what I like about them but to be fair to Tiffus they have raised the bar with some novel ideas and I don't see why I should tell the competition what they are doing. Even the green theme in the loo was a talking point.
In a nutshell the food and service was faultless, even on a very busy Staurday night.
It's only small and tightly packed, it's popular for good reason so I guess it's normally quite busy. Booking almost essential and if your looking for a quiet romantic night you may want to avoid a Saturday night.
