“Superb food in a lively atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 29, 2012

We have visited this particular Chiquito 5 or 6 times over the last several months and unlike the other reviewers here, have yet to be disappointed.
The atmosphere is lively, welcoming, relaxed & family friendly.
The staff without exception, have been warm & obliging. Only on one occasion was there a delay in being seated and served - but this was during half-term and during a peak lunchtime period.
The food has been superb. Fresh, full of flavour, cooked to a high standard and very attractively presented.
There are usually promotions of some sort in force (booklets of vouchers; special menu's, free fajita offers for the completion of an online survey etc) which means we have yet to pay full price for a meal - a very welcome added bonus!
On one occasion we wanted to take advantage of a free fajita offer, but couldn't find a combination of meals to qualify (because of the inclusion of a vegetarian dish). Upon asking the advice of our waitress, she approached the manager who came over and personally waived the conditions of the offer so we could have one free meal. A very nice touch - which is a rarity these days, and was greatly appreciated!
So, if you like us appreciate reliably great tasting food served in a fun, friendly atmosphere, this place is certainly worth a visit!

“Food great when it finally arrived”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2012

Having tried a Chiquito's a few years back and being terribly dissappointed we were drawn into this particular one because of the party music playing outside and the "bustling" atmosphere. ( it was between Christmas and New Year and was just the mood we were in) It was busy which is a good sign? isn't it?
We asked for a table and on a Saturday night were not surprised we had to wait for a table. We were told about 5 minutes so ordered a drink at the bar. 5 minutes was realistically nearer half an hour which was ok, we were in a good mood. When we got our table the waiter was seriously stressed, there were nowhere near enough staff and you did have to feel for the few who were seriously working as fast as they could. We ordered ( after another wait) had starters served which were tasty but no one had thought to bring cutlery and there was no waiting staff to ask, thankfully we had nachos and other finger foods so managed. When I asked the waiter he did later bring cutlery and apologised but it's not really being pickky needing a knife and fork. When the mains came they were surprisingly good and I enjoyed the burrito I had. Didn't stay for dessert but once again had to wait for someone to come and take our cash despite asking for the bill when the plates were cleared. Would I go again? Maube on a Monday lunchtime when the place is quiet, but probably not at the weekend, it's just too slow with a lack of staff and you get the impression the staff are just counting the minutes till they get off shift.

“So disappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2012 via mobile

A busy Saturday night means we get quoted 40 mins for a table. Not in a hurry so agreed to wait at the very busy bar. We ordered cocktails which came with ingredients missing and topped up with soda. Against our better judgement we ordered a second round. More of the same but now in a dirty glass and incorrect change. the barman was apologetic and did get a clean glass and correct the change. After an hours wait i asked the host how much longer our table would be and was told a table was just paying "give me 2 minutes...". 20 minutes later we were still waiting so i asked the host again, "there is a table paying by card now, give me 2 minutes..." seems to be his standard response. i pointed out that.he had said that 20 mins ago and a table magically appeared. The waitress was please enough and quickly fetched a bottle of wine as ordered and took our order. the burritos was fine, but the fajitas were lacking. having ordered them before i felt the meal i received was far below par. it was basically a pile.of onions and chicken with sauce. Perhaps 3 slices of pepper were included in the meal. dessert was fine byte half way through the waitress who was obviously planning ahead for home time added an extra table to ours as the large group behind us had left. Not a big deal but rude. so all in all £70 and 2 unhappy customers later, I won't be returning. A shame as i have on balance enjoyed my meals there in the past.

“Terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2012 via mobile

Booked table well in advance for party of 15, arrived on time to be given numerous excuses as to why we couldn't be seated, 1 hour of waiting later and a lot of patience we were finally seated, took 20 mins for the waiters to take our orders, food arrived quite quickly however was lukewarm at best. Won't ever consider using this restaurant chain again.
