“LITTLE GEM SLIGHTLY AWAY FROM SHOPS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We have known this place for a while now. It is the best value that I have ever found.
The Chef is French and does the cooking alone. The waitresses are so friendly and helpful to everyone. The food is exquisite. You can get a sirloin or rump steak for under £8 with that you get fries and peas and a bowl of fresh salad. There are numerous choices including the most delicious crepes, which you can have savoury or sweet with various toppings and sauces. Also gorgeous lamb cutlets, casseroles etc. and various offers. A lot of folk go regularly because they could not get a better home cooked meal, and I mean it is all home cooked even the fab. choc sauce on sweets and bearnaise sauce on steaks. They are open from Tuesday till Saturday lunchtime and evening (probably adviseable to book for evening weekends), maybe lunchtimes too. If glamour and glitz is your fancy, this won't be for you, to me it is typically french old style, that is not a crtisism, it is very cosy and the cost so very reasonable I dont know how they do it. Just go and bon appetit

“Don't let the decor put you off”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

As I read b4 the decor is very old fashion but very clean. Food homemade and fresh. My lemon meringue pie was till hot straight from oven. Owner on his own in kitchen mid 60 s but e works bloody hard the place was packed so called 1st. No frills no fancy plate ing up just nice big meals, very cheap 3 course for 2 plus bottle of wine and a juice £36. Where else can you get a nice bottle of French red ine for £8.10, go on try it

“Best kept secret in Worthing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012 via mobile

What an amazing find. Freshly coked to order. Home steak and kidney pie with melt in the mouth pastry. We had pâté to start, my husband had 1/2lb bacon burger and I had the pie, plus we had a glass of French cider each, total bill £17.35! We will definitely be going back again.

“Really good value for money.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

We were guests of friends and they hadn't booked a table. Oh dear, no space! But they jiggled things around and as long as we were out in an hour and a half we could have a table - fantastic!
We had 2 soup to start, 4 mains and 2 carafes of house wine and the bill came to 44.85. Unbelievable!
The restaurant has been owned and run by the same chap since the 70s and the style of decor and the food presentation looks it - it's quite old fashioned. But you cannot fault the quality of the cooking, the service and the price.
