I spent over 5 hours in this Bookstore and could have stayed a lot longer if I had enough money to cover the bill ! The place is absolute heaven for all kinds of book lovers and a haven from the somewhat unpredictable Derbyshire weather.
Just outside Buxton, on the Ashbourne Road, near Chelmorton it is easy to find at Brierlow Bar junction. There is a huge parking area and the building itself has lots of character, having been the local garage years ago (a local landmark), there are a couple of old pictures, etc on the left as you go in the door.
The place is well laid out with so many different areas for fiction, reference books, children's books, puzzle books, cookery books, birthday cards, bookmarks, maps and a lot more. There is a small cafe area where you can sit and enjoy a free coffee or tea whilst taking a break from studying the shelves. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, if you want something specific they will find it for you to save you searching.
All in all this is a fabulous book shop and a welcome change from the 'Borders' of this world.
