“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

We went here for one night as a birthday treat to me :) It really was the BEST place I have been. We went in the hot tub, which was Amazing, and I would highly recommend adding this on to a stay here. The surroundings are idyllic, and so beautiful. The room was stunning, and the bed was incredible, so comfy. The bathroom was lovely too, very spacious and clean. Karen was a perfect host. I genuinely did not want to leave, and I cannot wait to go again. Thank you so much :)

Room Tip: All the rooms look amazing.

We stayed over the Easter weekend which was our second visit to Stoop Farm & the Hollins Hil view room which is fabulous as are the views. It was a snowy outlook but a warm welcome inside from Karen with a pot of tea and a delicous slice of chocolate cake for us. Stoop Farm will always hold a close place in our hearts as we got engaged whilst staying there. The breakfasts are superb with a great variety of choice for all tastes and hungers. There are superb walks with stunning views to tackle whilst staying and some fantastic local pubs that serve good food and have a lot of character & characters....!
We are already planning our next visit, what more can I say......

Room Tip: All 3 rooms are excellent but our preference is the Hollins Hill view.

This is by far the best place we have stayed for the night. The farm is located up a 2mile track from the road, so the peace and quiet and privacy is excellent. Karen is such a warm and friendly host, and her number 1 priority is that you have a perfect stay.
Home made cake and tea on arrival delicious! Our room the Hayloft was huge, with the comfiest bed I have ever slept on. Little extras just go such a long way, chocolate in the room, jars of coffee instead of sachets, iPod dock in the room. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bathroom had not only a fantastic slipper bath positioned to enjoy the views out of the window, but a great powerful shower too.
We had the hot tub experience which was worth every penny! Bottle of bubbly included, fantastic views, lovely and quiet, watching the sheep go by,
Breakfast was excellent, home made granola and fruti compote, yoghurt, and a full breakfast, all very tasty and well presented. The dining area is also positioned for the fantastic view. Next to this is the guest lounge with DVD's, books, board games and an honesty bar.
Karen also provided us with an excellent map so that we could go on a 4 hour walk to Longnor and back over the Packhorse bridge.
We very rarely go back anywhere, but Stoop Farm will be the exception. 1 night was not enough!
Try the Royal Oak for dinner, HUGE portions and amazing food and great prices!

Stayed here for one night over snowy Easter, great little B&B down a (very snowy) country lane to Stoop Farm. Personal touches are everywhere, feels very homely and we wished we booked in for another night or two. We were made to feel very special by the hosts Karen and Bez, even though they were no doubt very busy with lambing season approaching! Highly recommended, will certainly be passing on this gem of a place to friends and family.

We really enjoyed our stay at Stoop farm and found the room, the rest of the accommodation, the food and the service to be first class -really warm and welcoming. The bed was really comfortable (Hollins View), the room really nicely decorated. The food was very tasty (we paid for dinner too and the sticky toffee was lethal!) and the breakfast was superb and customised to taste. The finishing touches were great - homemade biscuits in our room, homemade moist lemon cake and a cup of tea whipped out on our arrival. Beautiful surroundings. Would definitely recommend!

We chose here for a long weekend after reading the reviews on here and sawdays, and were not disappointed! Karen was very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, from booking dinner to recommending places to go and eat
The farm itself is very remote - part of its charm! (tip: look for the private road by the postbox near Glutton Bridge), but worth the slow trundle up the long drive for the peace and quiet and the views from the farm. On arriving we were made tea/coffee and greeted with some delicious cake - much appreciated!
Our bedroom was very comfortable, especially the bed (my partner even looked up the make of the pillows to get some for home!), a very good selection of tea and coffee and homemade biscuits (yum!), but the huge bath was the highlight - pure luxury!
We did a walk up the hill opposite before heading out for dinner - lots of great walks and cycle paths nearby, we went to the royal oak both nights for dinner - huge portions and very reasonable prices and very tasty.
Can't recommend this place enough - we have already booked our return trip in a couple of months :)

Room Tip: both bedrooms upstairs have a fantastic bath

The Stoop really is the ideal location for a quiet trip away, while offer plenty of excellent things to do on the doorstep.

Located in some of the most wonderful countryside the UK has to offer The Stoops in a quiet working farm offer the perfect base for walks. With Buxton just a quick drive away there is also plenty to do on an extended break as well. The room we stayed in (The hayloft) was quite fantastic and so peaceful. Karen and Bez the owners couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful (I really mean that!) and I'm happily going to recommend this place to anyone who looking for an idyllic country retreat.

Friendly and fantastic.
