“Beauty and Tranquility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2011

Fantastic stay at Stoop Farm. We were made to feel extremely welcome from the moment that we arrived. The surrounding hills are beautiful and the farm delightful ( i have never seen such a tidy farm!). The room we stayed in was lovely, good decor, fresh and clean. The views onto the hills were magnificent. Breakfast was 10/10, local produce lovingly cooked. Wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely return. Local pub ( a short drive away) was friendly and good food; Karen our host, kindly called them to make us a reservation. I would recommend Stoop Farm to anyone looking for some peace and quiet.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Hillview room which was lovely.

We booked our trip at the last minute and couldn't have found a better place to stay than Stoop Farm. We wanted a short break away from the busy city life and this was exactly what we found. Stoop farm is a family run working farm and set right in the heart of the beautiful hills of the Peak District. With the help of satellite navigation, we found the place easy enough but you may get a little lost without some sort of map. The scenery enroute and from the bedroom window was simply breath taking! On our arrival, we were greeted with warm tea and homemade cake and we instantly felt right at home. Karen was a wonderful hostess and made us feel very welcome. The service was immaculate right from the start throughout our entire stay. There are three rooms in total, we had the Seven Shed room which was located downstairs. It was the smallest of the three but this was still more than comfortable size. Everything was clean and tidy with an abundance of refreshment facilities from speciality teas to organic coffee to hot chocolate. The bathroom was very spacious and the shower was amazing! There is a communal living room stocked with books and dvds that you can use during your stay. For the evening meal, we were recommended 'The Royal Oak' and we would definately recommend that to anyone. A very intimate restaurant with amazing atmosphere, friendly staff and great value for money. After a very restful night's sleep, the breakfast was simply delicious! Karen had some of her homemade berry compote with a good selection of yoghurts and cereals on top of the breakfast selection. The hills around the farm are worth a visit with stunning views of the english countryside. We only wished we could've had a longer stay. Well done to Karen and the Family! 5 stars

We discovered this gem of a bed and breakfast last year and have recently returned from our second visit to Stoop Farm. I also treated my parents to a stay at the farm last year because I was confident that they would enjoy their stay here as much as we have. The views across to Hollins Hill and beyond are fantastic- the farm is set in a beautiful part of the Peak District, within close proximity to Chrome Hill and Parkhouse hill-two hills worth a climb for spectacular views!
On arrival to the farm, a very warm welcome awaits you with tea/coffee and gorgeous homemade cake, whilst you relax in the guest lounge enjoying the views of the hill and beyond-just what you need after a long journey or walk!
The breakfast menu offers a variety of choices-you'll want to try them all!! Even the granola is home made-served with a warm fruit compote-the perfect combination to get you wanting more before your main breakfast which is all locally sourced produce.
As the name would suggest, the Hollins Hill room offers views over to Hollins Hill-we love this view! It's a lovely room (the only one we have stayed in), clean, modern with extremely generous tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities!
Stoop Farm offers you the perfect getaway for a relaxing weekend, for walking/biking or as a base to discover the Peak District (Buxton only 8 miles away!) This really is LUXURY bed and breakfast accommodation and definately worth a visit-we shall return for another visit within the near future.
