We ate early at 12.30pm.Let me start off by saying that throughout the service was good.It was fast, attentive, and worked very well. But the food was dissappointing.Soup was the first course. This was very nice indeed;but the "warm" roll was hot,had dried out and was inedible.Next came the prawns "in a filo pastry basket".The prawns were barely cooked, having been at best lightly blanched in the frozen food factory.Myself and my son left half of them.Whilst they should have been laid on a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce, they had been put on some little gem leaves which were wet not having been dried out properly in the kitchen. This rendered the "crispy" filo pastry basket underneath, which wasn't a basket anyway like rubber. This was inedible. The Marie Rose sauce on the prawns had been made with salad cream and tasted revolting. My son had rib eye steak which was 100% ! I had overdone "falling into pieces from overcooking" turkey breast with incinerated pigs in blankets also inedible.Overal, all the vegetables were lacking any seasoning, (my son thought this was deliberate since not everybody likes seasoning) the roasties were not roasties at all really, and the sprouts were quite raw and inedible as well. Both the Eton Mess and the plum pub with sauce were fine as was the coffee. We both gave the overal meal 4 out of 10. Which is a shame given that it was Christmas Day.
