“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

We have just moved to Chepstow so it was our first visit to the Sitar Balti. We went with my son and daughter in law-and were greeted in a friendly manner by the waiter, who took our coats and showed us to the table. We had an excellent meal-all 4 of us really enjoyed it and the service was efficient yet friendly. We were given a very nice drink at the end, (complementary) and left knowing we would visit again. The seating is downstairs in a very comfortable cellar-clean-subdued lighting and a nice atmosphere. Would recommend very highly :)

“Lovely meal, great value for your money!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

We have eaten there twice during our stay in Chepstow, both times having the Chicken Khorma and the King Prawn Massala.
Massiveportions with lovely and fresh ingredients, greats chutneys, gorgeous bread. The Naan is the best we ever had.
Fast service and very nice staff. Must be one of the best Indian restaurants in Wales, completely on parr with Mint & Mustard in Cardiff in my opinion.
Highly reccommended!

“impressive meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

visited this restaurant after finishing my walking on offa's dyke. \i hadn't booked but they accommodated me reasonably quickly although they were busy. I had a very nice lamb dish - resonably priced and service was quick. very impressed (& i've had a few indian's in my time)

“A good experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

This Indian is tucked away in the basement - I have walked past it a number of times without realising it was there. The cellar restaurant is small, but does have a nice atmosphere. The food is pretty typical Indian fayre but what made a good evening was the quality of the service. It was our first visit, and we were offered complimentary Sambucas at the end of the evening. Nice touch.

“Must be the chefs night off”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012 via mobile

Had takeaway. Very poorly.presented. Very thing looked as though it had been cooked by the pot washer. Egg rice did not look appealing the mixed starters looked like a big portion but having tasted it I wish it wasn't. Waste of time and money. It was a Monday so maybe it was the chefs day off! If it wasn't the chefs day off I feel a bit cheated out of my money.
