“Very comfortable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2010

Marjorie was wonderful. We stayed with her for three days and felt so at home! She was really quite helpful with suggesting places to eat and then making our reservations! Breakfast was so deicious and filling. We enjoyed sitting in the kitchen and chit-chatting with her as she cooked. We also had a great hike up the mountain to the lock! Truely a pleasure in the woods! Oh, and the down on the very comfortable bed!

From the first meeting with Marjory at her wonderful home, to sadly having to leave. I can honestly say we've never been made so welcome in a B&B.
The wildlife, the views, the host and her dog. All made our holiday "JUST PERFECT.

Don't be deterred by the forested road up to the B&B. Once you have arrived, you won't want to leave!
Marjorie truly is "the hostess with the mostess"; nothing is too much trouble. Our breakfast was more than plentiful, and as a fellow guest put it, "Marjorie doesn't do "cutting back""!
The B&B is in a very peaceful setting, surrounded by woodlands, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We had a great night's sleep.
Marjorie was more than happy to offer advice; she even helped us plan our next day's drive, and her recommended route was fantastic.
Even though we only spent one night, it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland.

I spent two night at Marjorie's last September. It was my first trip using B&B locations. Upper Hatton was the I liked most. Having breakfast at the table in the kitchen together with the other guests, talking about what we've done yesterday and where to go next, while Majorie is baking eggs was an experience we'l never forget. The surrondings so calm and beautiful let forget the bad road to serenity. If I ever get back to scotland, and I'll try, this place will be on my list

My daughter and I spent a night at Marjory's B and B and I can honestly say it was the best I have ever experienced.
We truely felt we were very welcome to stay in her home.
The hospitality is heartwarming and the essence of Scotland.
Well done Marjory , we will be back.

My husband & I loved staying at Upper Hatton. As soon as we drove into the drive we said wow. Marjory the owner was especially nice and very welcoming. We had the Tartan room a very spacious room with a lovely comfortable bed. The next morning I drew back the curtains to find two fan tail doves and peacocks out side the window. We had a great breakfast beautifully presented with home made jams and yogurt to choose from. We have booked with Marjory again for next year and we will look forward to our stay with her as Marjory was so caring and nothing was too much trouble, we really loved this house set in a stunning setting.

This is the best B&B I have ever stayed in. Let me describe a typical day:

1. Get up and have a shower in the newly made bathroom (lower ground)
2. Have breakfast by your choice with muesli, yoghurt and bread (all home made!) and of course cooked breakfast.
3. Have a chat with the hostess who is very caring and gives good information about the surrounding area.
4. Go out and watch the 4 peacocks which belong to the hose und watch wild deer. Go for a walk in the beautiful scenery.
5. Spend some hours visiting the surrounding villages and have dinner.
6. Come home and relax in the cosy lounge by watching the fire in the fireplace, play piano or read in a bible dated 1822(!).
7. Have a good night sleep until the peacocks wakes you up in the morning.

So everything was perfect except for the access road which is quite bumpy.
