On arrival, the hotel looked good and our room was in the base of the tower so some nice views. Unfortunately we found the windows jammed, one shut the other open and the curtains did not fit which was a problem when the floodlight went on outside and kept the room permanently illuminated at night. The bathroom was shabby with a very temperamental hot water supply. We were in a party of 40+ and I heard one guest trying to change rooms as he only had a skylight window and he was told nothing could be done. The occupant of Room 26 also said that his windows were sealed shut. Generally speaking our meals were adequate but hardly imaginative with waiting staff clearly rushed off their feet, also some odd combinations eg fish and chips and sprouts. As we had been moved from the Esplanade before arrival we had a look at that hotel and it seemed a far better location. We were not impressed with the local youths playing football and shouting all evening followed by the drunks at chuck out time (c2am) followed by the seagulls clearing up the mess and then the street cleaner at 6.30am. We did not have one good nights sleep in a week and would never go back. Management did not seem too interested in the various compaints.
