“Excellent!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013 via mobile

The Craigieburn Guest House is a fantastic and value for money B&B. The room was spotless and the shared bathrooms were lovely and clean too. The owners of the B&B were so warm and welcoming and they go the extra mile to make the stay there pleasurable. They were more than happy to help with all enquiries and share their knowledge of local area. The location of the Guest House is excellent and is quite close to the town's main street. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend here to anyone who wishes to stay in Dunoon.

Everything was fantastic and the Guest House could not be faulted in any way. The owners were more than happy to help with enquiries and were accommodating in every way. When asked if we could leave a later time, even though the room was booked, they were kind enough to do their best in this case. Whereas other B&Bs would have stated a leaving time and wouldn't have been so flexible. Also when asked if we could leave our bags after checking out time, they were kind enough to allow us to leave them on site until we returned after exploring a bit more of the town. This place is probably the cheapest in the town but most other places would charge more and you would get less for you money. This will be the only place I will think of going back to in Dunoon. The B&B was spotless and the shared bathrooms were very modern. Soap, shampoo, shower gel, bubble bath etc were provided which was a very pleasant and unexpected find. Breakfast was excellent quality, very tasty and filling. The owners were just so nice and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

I stayed two nights with my wife, we were made very welcome by the owners who told us all about what to do in the area. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had a quiet night's sleep and woke up to a panoramic view. Finally, we had a generous and delicious breakfast. We'll be back !

I did stay for two nights in Dunoon.
The Dutch owners were very friendly and helpful. Good clean guest house and I sleep very well in a comfortable bed. Good room (there are no ensuite ones) with sea-view. Also cereals and a tastful Scottish breakfast were available.

Just had a delightful three day stay in Dunoon. Part of the pleasure was staying at this lovely guest house. Hosts, Tjapko and Hennie put you at ease from the outset and you feel truly welcomed into their home. As hosts, their light touch is perfect, giving you as much space or contact that is right for you. Their full English breakfast set me up each day and they are only too willing to give you great pointers on how to fill it. Dunoon itself is a delight. Nestled in the hills by Holy loch, there is great walking, cycling and endless ammounts of things to do and see. The scenery is everything I had hoped for..and more. Even when it rained, it seemed ok because it somehow fits this landscape. But most of all, If there is an art to hostelry, then this couple have it in spades.

This place is a 2* B&B and you should expect just that. It's a bit scuffy in its decor, but if you can get over that it's spotlessly clean and the hosts are welcoming. It's not ensuite, but there is a sink in the rooms. The views are good and there's parking.
The comment from the previous poster about the smell of stale smoke, I also think there is a mild smell but it's quite strongly masked by the smell of air freshener. It depends how senstive your nose is I suppose!
Overall, a good location for the town, comfortable beds, clean and good breakfast. But nothing fancy.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We always apreciate an hones review. With regards to the smell of smoke we've decided to make the Craigieburn a non smoking accomodation. Even our regular "smoking guests" are pleased with this decision
