“Great place place to while away the hours with friends.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

I had a hospital appointment at Inverclyde hospital in Greenock. Having relatives that stay in Dunoon, we went down there the day before and got the ferry over.
We all went out for dinner and ended up in the Rio. What a lovely meal and a lovely place to eat in. I was very impressed. As for the price, very reasonable indeed. Would recommend to anyone visiting Dunoon. Well worth the visit.

“Rio, River, Abhainn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Went in with the Mother il, weans and missuse to celebrate the children's 5th anniversary. The waiters were friendly and attentive, however they forgot to ask us if we wanted a drink. I am Scotch after all.

The complimentary Olive bread was v tasty. The the kids really enjoyed their pizza, chips and that very Italian/Spanish speciality baked beans. They thought that all their dreams had come true with the huge portions of ice cream that they finished with.

I ordered, what seemed to be like a Italian Cornish Pasty and it was hard work, very dry and the pastry seemed a tad overcooked. A sauce would have helped a lot, jus if you like. I would not recommend it if you had to catch the Argyll Flyer, what's that, it's been cancelled, plenty time then?

The other two ordered pizzas and were quite satisfied but wartime taste buds? It is not the most Italian Italian, but then is it supposed to be Spanish. Rio in Italian is fiume isn't it? Who is confused? Maybe me. Who knows?
