***Ignore what other people moan about!!***
I stayed here last weekend with my partner and both of our mothers. We arrived at 11pm on a Friday night and found parking outside the hotel on the road. We were greeted at the check in desk, check-in was easy and we were taken to our rooms. My room was up quite a lot of stairs and my mother could have done with a hand with her case, however the other room was only on the second floor and there was lift access so I'm sure you could request this when you book.
The room was very clean, bathroom was clean and towels/bedding clean and white. The blanket wasn't great but that's because I don't like blankets in hotels, I just took it off the bed. The room was basic but adaquet for a 1 night stay, a little dated but this didn't bother us at all. There were tea and coffee facilities and nice cookies in the room. The TV was small but got good signal and was perfectly acceptable. The rooms could do with a little updating but for the price you pay it really is a minor concern. Our shower room didn't have a shower curtain, which would be the only thing I'd say was a slight problem! We slept well and it was very quiet, didn't hear or see another resident in the time we were there, which was great!
We got up at 4:30 and had ordered an early breakfast - this was served in the dining room and was a fantastic, really tasty continental breakfast, loads of coffee and tea and all served by a nice and attentive guy. This is really good in my opinion as not many hotels would serve such an early breakfast - even the big chains stipulate strict breakfast times.
We were about 10 minutes drive from the eurotunnel, so perfectly located for our trip to France. A great stop over to break up the journey.
Overall a good stay, we paid £24 per person for the night including the breakfast and I would certainly reccomend this hotel for short stop overs. You can't complain at all about the price!
