“Refurbed Premier Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Have had 2 issues with Premier Inns in the past - the TVs and towels - this one has been recently refurbished and both issues have been addressed. For the money you really can't find better value and the staff were particularly friendly and professional. A very good place to stay before using the Channel Tunnel.

Room Tip: Stayed on 2nd floor in 'annex' building overlooking the car park - nice and quiet

After a horrific journey on the Eurotunnel with more than eight hours of disruptions, we finally arrived at the Premier Inn at 01.45am. We checked in and the night reception was excellent, didn't bombard us with questions just explained the key system, gave us our room number and left us to sleep. Had a great nights sleep, lovely clean room, comfy beds and pillows, spotlessly clean.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 14

We stayed here one night on our way to Paris, we arrived on a saturday night and unfortunately had trouble finding a parking space, once we did we made our way inside. The lady on reception was very friendly. Once we got to our room we were bowled over! We booked during a sale so paid £19, Our room didnt look like a 'budget' hotel room at all. The biggest plus in my book was how clean it was, i dont care how basic it is, as long as its clean. Think Monica from Friends clean. I could see my reflection on the taps in the bathroom!

The bed was a little hard for my liking but thats only cause i like a squishy bed, my husband found it great. We both slept very well. The choice of pillows was great also.

We have booked another Paris stay for March and yesterday booked a room at this Premier Inn for the night before, cant really say higher than that :-)

We stayed here on Christmas Eve as it was very close to my mums house. The receptionist was lovely and helpful and the rooms have been redecorated and are lovely and clean and new. The only downsides for us were as it was Christmas Day there was no breakfast on offer - they laid on free cereals etc but we do like a cooked breakfast when we stay over. And also I paid £3 for wifi which was really poor and I got a better signal with my phones 3G!

On our way to Brugge we stayed here overnight to break our journey and so we would be up nice and early to catch the channel tunnel train NowI must say since the last time we stayed here the rooms have improved although we were on on the top floor this time, Staff very nice and helpful, Bed comfy, room clean but basic but really ok for a one night stay and its so close to the channel tunnel The only thing I dont like about premier inns in general is that you do not have any contact with the front desk no phones in room So if you are a staying on your own I would feel quite vunerable

Room Tip: ask for a room on the top floor These rooms seem to have been refurbished

We stayed in a family room en route to Disneyland Paris. The receptionist was very welcoming. The room was clean and tidy with all the facilities required. We ate in the 'restaurant' next door, which was actually a pub and was therefore expensive. The hotel itself was excellent value for money. Great location for access to the Channel Tunnel.

We stayed one night at the Premier Inn en route to Germany and as always were very satisfied - we have stayed in far more expensive hotels that have been far less clean and comfortable. We had a large and pleasant double room, there was plenty of parking space, and easy access to the bar and restaurant next door. In addition, it is only a short drive from the Inn to Dover Ferry port.
It is difficult to imagine how the Premier Inn Folkestone manages to provide this high standard of accommodation for such a low price and we really hope that the hard-working and well-trained staff are properly paid. We wouldn't like to think that we paid budget prices at the cost of staff wages.
