“what a shame could be a lovely hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

The rooms although clean were shabby, nothing matched there was damp in our daughters room and the furniture in the hotel looked like it had come from a second hand shop. There is sheet and blankets on the bed rather that quilts. The window in our room was broken so could not be shut and the toilet did not fill up properly so if you wanted to flush it you need to hold the ball cock down so the cistern filled up to the top. The hotel web site states there are evening meals available this is not the case nor is there a separate guest lounge. Breakfast the food was warm rather than hot. but they had no jam only marmalade for your toast. The so called ensuite facilities was just like a little cupboard and the sink was in the bedroom.

Room Tip: Unless it has a complete refurbishment and update choose another hotel

I've stayed at the Salisbury on numerous occasions and I've always found it to be a genuine home from home. The staff are awesome, very accommodating, helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms are always clean, tidy and well equipped. Currently the hotel is under going some refurbishment but it hasn't impacted on my stay in any way.... If you want an inexpensive, comfortable hotel then I would have no hesitation in recommending the Salisbury...

We stayed at the Salisbury for a two night break and really can't fault it. Our room was perfect with a perfect sea view, it had all we needed and was clean and tidy, upon our arrival we got a lovely warm welcome from John who gave us a lot of information whilst we enjoyed a drink at the bar. All the staff were friendly and we enjoyed a night in the bar with some of the locals. We would definetly stay here again and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

the hotel needs a complete refurbishment the rfoomsd are shabby and out dated the bed was comfortable but had a sheet blanket and eiderdown need to change to quilts the tv was so small and reception was crap unless you kept on moving no remote paid for breakfast what a joke 4 choices of very basic cereals tasted like cardboard and a kids portion of breakfast no menu choices obviously done on a budget the water in room was cold so never attempted to use shower walls are full of mildew curtains did not pull together on street free parking is for everyone so had to park two streets away the one lady who was jack of all trades was friendly but wont be returning

Room Tip: no idea as did not get choice of room

We stayed in this hotel for night .
The staff were friendly .
But the hotel is run down and unclean this hotel needs a massive injection of money to bring it back to life the location of the hotel is great over looking the sea front and just 2mins walk from the town centre .

Excellent hotel, stayed for a night on the way back from Bruges. Perfect view in the morning of the sea. Lovely breakfast. Would recommend.

We booked this hotel as it was convenient to the Channel Tunnel.

It was hoped that we could get to the hotel, grab some sleep, get up, shower, breakfast then off.

How sadly mistaken we were.

Arrived at hotel and booked in.

Were advised that Breakfast would be served between 8 & 9.

We were told that the stairs and lift were round the corner. Took one look at the lift and decided that I wasn't going to risk it.

Walked up the stairs to the second floor and found a couple who were trying to awaken someone who had fallen asleep, or passed out on the stairs.

Got to room and found it to be VERY dated and i need of some investment and a good clean.

TV only had 1 channel.. NOT Good!

Shower head full of limescale ~ I wonder if the management have considered Legionella???

Lots of noise over night... Could hear people talking outside.

To be honest, I don't know what the Seagull had done to one of the residence ~ PERSONALLY... But I didn't really want to hear about it.

Curtains were torn, sliding door was damaged...

As for the toilet seat.... YUCK!

What a real disapointment..
