“Pleasantly surprised.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Our visit was atypical as we went on the spur of the moment for an early evening meal. We were the first party in but were warmly welcomed and seated in a place deemed to be the most convenient for my elderly mother. We chose from a brasserie type menu. Everything was delicious, well seasoned and nicely presented. We haven't been there for many years, having been put off by a couple of poor experiences, but will definitely be back on the strength of this last visit.

“A lovely meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

Really lovely meal for a special occasion. Seafood starter was fresh and delicious ,French onion soup - never tasted anything like it before . Mains of calves liver and pork chop with beautifully cooked greens well presented and very very tasty. Pudding of peanut butter and chocolate tart really finished us off! Very expensive but well worth it for a treat. The only complaint I would have is that the tables were packed together which made it difficult to have a quiet conversation as it was very busy.

“Sunday Lunch treat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

Dined at the three acres (book well in advance) for a family get together. Restaurant very busy, good menu choice ranging from traditional beef and yorkshire to fish and chips. The parfait starter was delicious, as was the fish and chips.
Table was a little cramped for 7 people and we were stuck in a corner. Service was adequate but they could have been more attentive, we had to keep asking for things, which should have been noticed by the waiting staff. Nonetheless when we mentioned the missing cutlery etc it was soon replenished. Have no complaints about the food whatsoever, but the service could be improved. We will definitely go back again, it just lacked that extra special touch.
