As soon as we made contact with Andy (back in April 2013), we felt we'd picked a good place to stay and from the moment we walked through the front door of Castle View Guest House on 1st November, we knew we were right! Andy and Linda are fabulous hosts and make you feel very at home as soon as you arrive. They're both friendly and have lots of hints/tips regarding routes to & from a place as well as recommending and booking places for you to eat. We spent 2 nights in their Pennine Room which is just lovely... the bed is very comfy and two arm chairs give you additional seating options. The ensuite is large with a good powerful shower and the views from the window are stunning. A real bonus is having a silent fridge in the room with fresh milk supplied for those extra cuppas! There's plenty of storage space and also a hairdryer, iron & board should you need it. The guest lounge is a bonus as it's a chill out area if you're 'back at base' but not ready to go to your room. The breakfast room is a good size and the food is delicious, with a good selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and any combination of cooked items from the menu. This guest house is based in a good location and there are plenty of pubs/restaurants to choose from however, if you fancy bringing food back in to eat, Linda & Andy are happy to set up a table for you. We're hoping to return in summer 2014 to stay longer and explore more of this lovely part of Yorkshire... and also hope to try out the hot tub!
