We had promised our 2 year old grandson a trip on the railway at the end of December when we were looking after him, but unfortunately it was closed until January, but he had not forgotten so on a cold day we braved the elements and set off with his mum and dad who wanted to tag along!!! Our grandson went on the little train but did not like it at first, and then did not want to get on the big train but did after some coaxing. He thought it was Thomas because it was blue!!! He "did not want it - tunnel" but when we passed the red engine at the crossing point he thought it was James and couldn't wait to get off "Thomas" and have a turn on "James", and forgot all about the tunnel!! After our ride on "Thomas" we enjoyed excellent food in the cafe, a good selection on the menu. Thanks to the unlimited rides, we were able to have a ride on the red train after we had eaten, and then our grandson wanted to go back to the little train which he decided he liked after all!!!! Unfortunately it had stopped running so we told him it had gone to bed. We will definitely be returning when the weather is warmer. It is a place you can stay all day and even bring a picnic in summer. Very good value for money!!!
