My friend and I went out for a catch up and a meal to Da Sandro. Most of the staff were great, very welcoming and helpful. We had a long wait for a table, but we were prepared for this so didn't really mind. The food was good and presented well, though perhaps a bit overpriced compared to other similar places. The service is run very well and is extremely organsied
All was going well until we came to pay. Normally I don't write negative reviews on trip advisor as I prefer to talk to the owner/manager so they have a chance to rectify the situation. However the arrogance and rudeness of one member of staff has left me angry and shocked. As someone who eats out 2-3 times per week and travels a lot, I feel I have a fairly good idea of what service levels are good and which are not. Upon coming to pay the lady at reception was off hand and rude, couldn't be bothered to ask how our meal was. She moved my glass of wine so I didn't knock it over her "very important receipts", I have no problem with her doing this but there was no need to do it with such disdain . We then asked about functions to which she replied in a very short voice "the functions are nothing to do with us, ask the hotel" Firstly I believe that the hotel and restaurant are the same owners and even if this was not the case surely it would be good service to give us a card or phone number. After spending £85 on a meal I was left with a very bitter taste in my mouth and I will be highly unlikely to visit Da Sandro again
