“Good location deep down a country lane but near Luton Airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

We called in on a Tuesday mid-afternoon on our way back home from Luton Airport on the off-chance that it was still doing food. It's clearly changed hands since our last visit 3 years ago but they were very welcoming, re-opened the kitchen specially for us, and we got tasty pies at reasonable prices. The beer was excellent, as was the reading matter on the shelves. Two very friendly resident dogs there as well.

Late evenin on a Friday on the way to Luton, very nice inside extremely cosy and not too noisy, careful and relatively quick service, nice menu, very good ribeye steak, nothing to say except the price on the high end

“Gone downhill”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

The famous pies that once made this a great place to eat had gone and the food was really poor, such a shame.

“A bit disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We have been going to The Fox for a number of years but on the last couple of visits have been someone dosappointed. IT was busy in December, but the staff, usually very good, just didn't seem bothered - and the food was at the best average. I don't know if it's changed hands but certainly not as good as it was a year ago.

“Categorically the worst service I have ever recieved, full stop.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2012

On arrival I was disappointed to find the pub closed, but then we discovered it was not actually closed, oh how we wish it was closed now!

We asked on entering the man behind the bar whether they were open and serving food, he replied "yes". The atmosphere was frosty to say the least, there was no radiator on but the landlord made the place even colder with his attitude,

We then found our own table and sat down, ten minutes later no sign of any service so we went to the bar and asked mr ice to come and take our orders.

We ordered our food. Then half an hour later half of us recieved our meals (3 pies, average in quality); then twenty minutes later 2 more people recieved their meals (two Fox club sandwiches, if the fox is code in this part of the world for burn toast then they certainly delivered on what they advertised). Ten minutes later our final meal arrived, a cheeseburger (cheese not melted, burger was burnt).

On leaving we were told the Pies were £1 more than we expected because you have to pay for vegetables seperately even though we did not order any extras.

We all felt thouroughly miserable.

Never again, absolutely never again.

Shameful.

Awful.

Gordon Ramsey Kitchen nightmares need to visit this place for the sake of everyone.
