“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

Stayed here for one night after reading reviews on here. Was not disappointed. Were with another couple, booked a superior room each, both upgraded to suites, thanks!! Obviously plenty of room, massive bathroom with sunken bath, large seated area. A/C in room. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely. Taxi to airport was only £6, private hire. Easy walking distance to town centre.

Staff - lovely and welcoming, food - lovely, I had an evening meal and breakfast the next morning.
Accommodation - could do better. Clean and quite new, but telephone in the room didn't work, no wi fi in bedrooms, only 3 working channels on the tv, shower that was impossible to control, room very warm and aircon didn't work. Wooden flooring had significant gaps between the boards, and no curtains but window blinds which let in some light.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 115 - quite small for a single

Really a nice place to stay, close to Luton airport (10 minute bus ride) train station (5 minute walk) shopping mall (5 minute walk) and park (across the street).

The breakfast was great, the room we had was in the attic so it was a newer room but even though I am over 6 feet tall (190cm) it was ok.

For three nights a double room including breakfast and free wifi for 136 Euros is a really good deal for this kind of hotel.

I've been using this hotel for roughly 3-4 years on and off and the location, food and 'quirky' rooms were big pluses. However, my last few visits have seen standards slowly slipping. A single towel in the bedroom, faulty taps that could easily cause a scolding incident (beware room 108), inability to cope with a rush at breakfast time. All little things but stuff that hasn't been wrong before but seems to be slipping in. For the first time in 5 years I'll consider where I stay in Luton next time. The Leaside won't be an automatic choice.

Stayed here as part of a wedding party. Hotel rooms were fantastic, and the hotel was spotlessly clean! The breakfast was cooked to order, and was lovely! Really enjoyed my stay.

Room Tip: The loft rooms are lovely!

We arrived at Luton airport late at night, picked up a rental car and made our way to the Leaside arriving after 1 am. This is in no way a standard hotel. Our room had a lot of character, the bed was comfortable, the heating was good. In the morning we easily found the lovely breakfast room and a fantastic breakfast spread. The front desk staff were extremely helpful in getting us oriented and making recommendations. What more could one ask...well perhaps one day the people of the UK will realize that taps can now mix hot and cold water, but that is a general critisicm and not aimed at the Leaside in particular. Why stay in a standardized boxy room when you can have the charm and character of the Leaside for the same price. We'll be back.

The staff here were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was OK; I had booked a "luxury double" but the only difference was that it had a great bath in it.

I was quite disappointed with the tv - I read that there were "flat screen tvs" in each room - but it must have been a 15" screen which was barely visible from the bed, and it said that it had some Sky channels, but I couldn't find them!

The room was nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable, and it was very clean. Another gripe was that there weren't any curtains, just blinds, which were broken at the bottom so it was very light very early in the room.

There is free wifi, but I was told that it didn't reach all the rooms, but I got it fine in mine (104, if I remember correctly).

The breakfast was great, there was enough of everything and it was good.

It is a 7 minute walk to the town centre with the shopping mall, and we walked down from the train station on our arrival.

All in all I would probably return, though to be honest, I'm pretty sure I could find something else in the area for less than the price I paid (£87) which may not be quite so "boutiquey" but would match the general standards I found here. Though I do have to repeat that the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: I know that room 104 "luxury double" I got the wifi signal..
