Had our first and our last visit to this restaurant. Meal was just about ok quality wise. The waiter got our initial order of popadoms wrong ,,,, how easy should it be to get 2 spicy 1 plain correct ??? The problems only came when I asked for the bill. The amount was correct and the bill was presented in an america. express leather folder. I presented my Amex card only to be told that the machine was dropped a couple of weeks ago and couldn't take Amex. A bit of a tall story and not very believable. My Visa card chip and pin also appeared to not work , and I was asked to sign for the bill. I queried this practise with the manager as it all seemed a bit suspicious. He says he had the Amex info behind the check out desk and he'd find it for me. He then produced about a dozen unopened letters. Who gets mail and then leaves it unopened ??? Especially to a business ... When I went home I cancelled my card and informed the credit aed company as to what had happened. Amex charge all retailers a larger percentage , so may be this was done for that reason. Due to this , we will not be returning here. I urge caution if paying by credit card here. It appears that some form of sharp practise is happening. Not impressed ... Ruined our romantic evening
