I had friends visiting and the Frog and Rhubarb is quite local to me, so we popped in for lunch. Ages of guests ranged from 16 to 70 years. When looking through the menu we were very surprised at the range and choice. Especially for a lunch time. 16 year old decided on the chicken burger. This consisted of a whole chicken breast in a nice fresh roll with a portion of chunky chips. Cooked to perfection. She cleared her plate and commented on how nice it was.
The rest of us decided on the Tapas. Very reasonably priced at £10.95 for any 5 dishes, chosen from a list of about 25. Very difficult to narrow it down to 5 dishes as they all looked good! We ended up with 15 dishes on the table. Needless to say, we couldn't eat it all, but had a very good try! Every dish was lovely and again cooked to perfection.
Service was fast and efficient and it makes a nice change to have staff that were happy and would have a conversation with you.
16 year old decided upon having dessert. Was torn between 2 items, waffles or chocolate brownie. (hard desision for a 16 year old girl) She went for the chocolate brownie which came out as a large slab of brownie and 2 scoops of ice cream. It was very moist, not dry like some can be. She informed us that it was delicious! Not that she was going to share it with us!!!!!
Drinks are also reasonably priced, having a large white wine, a pint and a half of lager and a bottle of water, which came to £12.
It is nice to go out for a good meal and not come away dissapointed or ripped off.
Would highly reccomend this restaurant to anyone, of any age.
