“Another great family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

The four of us went away for 3 nights at the start of Whitsun. We were pleasantly surprised to have a 'silver' 2 bedroom accommodation quite close to the Skyline pavilion. Just like our last visit the rooms were very clean and comfortable with flat screen TV's in both - not that we had time to watch anything.
We opted to upgrade to the Premium dining in the Quayside restaurant. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant especially the lady who cooked the pancakes and omelettes. The food was good and plentiful and the kids enjoyed helping themselves. However it would be great if all the drinks machines worked and were kept topped up.
This is the second time we've been in as many years and we all had a great time. My husband and son had a go on the high ropes and archery whilst my daughter and I joined in with the shows and soft play.
The evening entertainment in Centre stage was brilliant especially the Cirque de Hilarious. We all loved it.
My daughter is now at an age where she just loved being with the red coats, especially on the dance floor. We decided to book again for next Easter before we left and we can't wait. Well done to all the team at Butlins

I booked to go to Butlins at Minehead late January when they had lots of deals on so got an excellent price. Was abit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but there was nothing to worry about. We had an absolutely fantastic holiday. We only stayed in the very basic accomodation but for what we wanted it for it was great. 2 large bedrooms, one with double and the other with 2 single beds, flat screen tv's in both rooms, small fridge and a safe which was very handy. There was also plenty of wardrobe space for storage. The bathroom light did not work upon arrival but within an hour of reporting it, it had been fixed.
We opted for the premium dining and we cannot fault that, the food choice and quality every day was excellent. There really was something for everyone.
We have a 2 & 8 year old so things to do and entertainment was important. Again this was excellent we was never short of anything to do. The outside fair and the bob the builder land is very good, and all free. The arcade in the pavilion is good and there is a whacky in there which is also free. The centre stage has lots of different shows on for the little ones. There are a few outdoor parks also. The waterpark is very good, they have a small section with a slide for toddlers. It does get quite busy in there though and you do have to que for the slides.
There are lots of different children characters walking around the resort and are always happy to have photos took with the children. The redcoats are very friendly. The beach is just over the road and is lovely.
The night time entertainment is good, lots of tribute acts, and kids discos, but the Venues do get very, very busy and it is hard to find a seat when shows are on.
I would give butlins at minehead a 10/10 and would recommend to anyone with young children.

Room Tip: If you are just looking for a base to sleep and shower, book a basic standard room, they are spaciou...

The sunny weather helped make this a fantastic break.
We booked a 'room' and went for premium dining option. Room was fine as a base and to sleep. Dining was good, i'm not really a fan of buffet style generally but even 4/5* hotels do it now! The quality of food was good, selection good. Only slight gripe is that the early bird did catch the best food, if you want in an hour before the service was due to end, options disappeared not to be replaced, esp the desserts.
Evening entertainment was brilliant, lots of choice and good variety.
Beachside location was fantastic, just 10 meters from the front entrance!
Minehead is a lovely little town, lots to do within a 30 mile radius from the site but there's really little need to leave the resort!
Fairground rides are fab and the pool brilliant, outdoor play pool was great to sunbathe and make the most of the weather.
Love it! Definitely going back sooon!

Room Tip: If you will be in your room a lot, maybe book gold but if it's just for sleep then the standard...

We as a family of 4 went away with another 2 families. 6 adults 7 kids in total. All booked separtley but was nice surprise we was all in oyster bay . This wS something we norm request. We had silver accomadtion very clean and comfy. We paid 40 for housekeeping. Soo worth the money. First tims I didn't need to clean on holiday. We alzo had the premium dining. Food was very good plenty choice although repetitive . Got fed up after third day but did eat thier seem as paid. The people are rather rude pushing shoving. You get the same people in the centre stages. I had to bite my tongue a few times. We ws very lucky with the weather a full week of glouirous sun which made it much more enjoyabls. The kids loves the outdoor pool and all the parks. Are favorite placs to stay an enjoy drinks in the evening was the sun and moon. Playpark and lovely seating. We couldnt cope with centre stage unlsss u qued for hours forget a seat. Plus vedy hot. They shud consider air con . Bingo in jaks was disapointin. It smelt like sweTy dogs could hardly bare it. Jahmene wS thier one night we did enjoy that also beauty and the beast . Kids loved that. Can't comment on anymore as only visited thier twice. Kids just got fed up. Expect to spend a fortune although a lot is free we don't know how we spent so much lol. Oh seagulls major annoyance not butlins failt but they woke me 3am every morning. Also bird poo all over the floors yuk. And they didn't care about swipin food stright from your hands. All in all we would go back again as the childten enjoyed it so much but I think I'd go self catering next time. To much to do from morn till night we nevernstopped and we never left camp didn't need to brilliant well done butlins. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

We have just returned from a four day break at minehead and what a fantastic time we had.The appartment a two bedroom with lounge was clean the beds were comfy and a pleasant place to stay.We ate in the ocean bar and the food was superb I have two kids one of whom is a fussy eater but even she commented how good the food was.Entertainment was good a fantastic Tom Jones tribute(and we not really into his music)but he was fab! The only down side was it was fairly exspensive to drink in the venues when you have children the drinks can cost a bit but other than that Fantastic!!! one little moan i am a smoker and accept that you cant smoke in room or venues but there are not enough ashtrays about by the accomadation although i smoke i dont leave my fag ends on the floor so have to walk around to find a bin!!!

On arrival at Butlins Minehead we were greeted by security on the gate who directed us to the car park and told us we could check in anytime from 12pm. As we arrived at around 11.45am we ate lunch that we had with us and then walked down to the check in area which is solely used for this purpose. The desks were alphabetical and we didn’t have to wait 5mins  fabulous start! We couldn’t get into our apartment until 4pm and were given timed key cards so we could use the facilities and then enter at the specified time. We took the time to familiarise ourselves with everything and then went to find our apartment around 3.45pm. We did try the key at 3.50pm and it didn’t work until 4pm, very clever we thought. Good idea. I would much rather check in with no waiting around than have to wait ages in queues to get keys at the same time much like everywhere else we have stayed. Well done Butlins.

We stayed in Oyster Bay, Riverbed Court 2, ground floor silver apartment. This was my first time at Butlins and I was pleasantly surprised. Lovely apartment, clean, tidy and beds made up etc. We had everything we needed, the heaters all worked, the shower was good. They only thing we didn’t have was a grill pan which was soon brought to us when we rang the number provided. We also had an issue with ants in the kitchen area a few days in but again this was soon resolved and someone came out to sort it. The only problem we had with being on the ground floor was the noise from upstairs however this was only on one night and I believe it was a male group so it was to be expected. The bed was comfier than most places I have been although after a few nights you start to miss your own.

We chose to go self-catering rather than the dining option and from what I have read on here I’m glad we did, although to look at when we were passing the dining area it did seem alright?
The fair was good fun for everyone, although my daughter is small for her age and could only go on a couple of things due to height restrictions. Bob the builder’s yard is excellent for the little ones and is also under cover so good if the weather is bad. My 2 year old son loved all the rides and the waiting times were not bad either.

The skyline pavilion is the heart of the site and here takes place all of the many children’s shows and performances throughout the day. We managed to watch bob the builder, Angelina ballerina, fire man Sam and mike the knight while we were there. My daughter also enjoyed a puppet show and the skyline gang show. All good fun and plenty of seats etc.
There is an arcade here too with plenty of machines and rides etc, most of the children’s rides are £1 with a few 50p ones. There are bars and shops throughout too. With a Spar that’s open late to get those last minute things on the way back.

We didn’t sample the evening entertainment this time, with having young children our holiday was about them and I didn’t fancy trying to make them sit through shows that didn’t start until gone 9pm. Next time may be different, well I hope so as there are plenty I would like to see.

We visited the splash pool and enjoyed it in there, lovely and warm with plenty of changing areas.

We also visited the Ice Cream shop which has some lovely flavours, very nice.

On out last night we decided to visit the Sun and Moon restaurant, how lovely this was. Although the queues seemed to be to the door we were served within 10 minutes and we had a food with us within another 10, excellent service super quick and delicious food all good I would definitely visit here again.

A lot of the staff on the park are polish and they are very efficient, If we visited a busy restaurant at home we would have to wait an hour or more for food. Again well done Butlins 

A very good first experience of Butlins and we only stayed mon-fri I can honestly say I would of stayed longer if I could where as I’m usually ready to go home! We have rebooked for Bognor Regis for next year while we were there and saved some money in doing so. All Good 

This is our second time at Butlins, Minehead. Good points: good value for money, lots of entertainment choices, lots to do.
Bad points: there are no cigarette bins nr accomodation to everyone throws their butts on the floor. Not nice when you have young children. Matresses...some need updating.
