“Great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

Steve and I found this super place on the internet on Saturday morning . We read the reviews and decided it was definitely worth a visit . The staff were as friendly and helpful as the previous reviewers said . Our room was lovely . Fab comfy bed , quality bedding and towels too . Everything was spotlessly clean .
We ate in the bar , next to the fire . The food was delicious . Steve had the game pie and I had the smoked salmon . We shared the meringue dessert . Perfect meringue too !
Breakfast was extremely good too . We would highly recommend this place . I'm sure that it will do really well . The attention to detail along with the great staff ,management and owners will make certain of that .
The other people staying last night who were having breakfast at the same time as us this morning also enjoyed their stay . I imagine finding a vacancy here will become more difficult . We shall have to book further in advance in future !! Thanks again .

Room Tip: Read the reviews . This place has excellent ones and I imagine it always will !

What a breathe of fresh air this long standing pub is now back open under new ownership the rooms have all been redone. The bar area has had a over hall and the food not to mention the beer is top notch a must for anybody visiting Minehead

We stayed at The Old Ship Aground just after it reopened and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room overlooked the harbour and was very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant each night and had trouble decidng what to eat - the choice is huge. (Favourites included rabbit faggotts for which chef Julian gave me the recipe.) All food is locally sourced and cooked to order. The staff and owners were welcoming and helpful. We would stay there again anytime.

We found this lovely pub when we were on holiday at butlins Minehead and what a great find it was to, so warm friendly and welcoming, great staff and outstanding food, we re severed a table and had dinner the next day which was the best meals we had eaten all weekend, all staff wdre very friendly and helpful and meet every need that we had. I would highly recommend that people take the opportunity to have a drink and maybe even some off the lovely food that the warm and welcoming staff serve, oh and the sticky toffee pudding was the best I have ever tasted very yummy and not to rich something which was good after having a lovely starter and dinner before hand, or if not quite so hungry the bar snacks are also next to none very very tasty and well worth it.

A big thanks to all the staff and see you all again very soon

Many thanks for your lovely comments, always good to hear from customers.
The sticky toffee is proving a very popular pudding, it’s a real pub classic.
Come and see us again when you next visiting.

We had stayed here regularly until it became run down. When it reopened we decided to try it again. Had room 8, fantastic views, clean tidy and warm. Ate in the pub both nights and lunchtime. Good food and wine. The staff were friendly and helpful. Not constantly on mobile phones which is what you see now in pubs. Good atmosphere in the pub. Had some funny moments. There are not many pubs we would return to again. This one we will
