4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

We stayed for one night. Large room. Clean. Very busy pub. We never had eve meal there. It was nice to walk down and have fish an chips on the sea front. My breakfast was cold. My partners was ok he said. Bed was very good. And I don't sleep we'll. never saw the boss until we were leaving. Room was good but not worth full price of £100. No parking room out front of pub. There car park is down the road. We still love our first place at washford. The white horse. Perfect there. And service there great. Very homely.

We spent a night at this hotel/ restaurant as we were attending a birthday party there. We arrived a little earlier than check in, but the lovely girl behind the bar said we could go to our room straight away.
The room was a good size and had a smashing view of the sea as the hotel is on the sea front. The room wasnt too exciting, but very clean. The bathroom had a shower and the water pressure was very good. The extractor fan in the bathroom didnt seem very strong as it wasnt clearing the steam at all. The bed was very comfortable but unfortunatly the pillows were thin and I think some new ones were needed. There were a couple of family rooms too
We had lunch, which was lovely and the portions were quite large. All the staff were freindly and in the evening when we were in the function room, the barman worked hard. If he didnt have the beer in his bar then he went down stairs to the main bar. The food for the birthday was also supplied by the hotel and they put on a good spread.
Breakfast was very filling and tasty. This restaurant/hotel is very close to the coastal walk and away from the noise from Butlins. In all, a friendly restaurant/hotel and I would recommend it

Room Tip: Room 4 was bigger than room 3

I stayed here for the first time in May and was very impressed with the place, unfortunately I didn't get to sample the food but the service was great. Since then I've stayed a couple of times more with friends when on fishing trips to the area and haven't been disappointed, the accommodation is immaculately clean and comfortable, the showers are great, nice and powerful (which is unusual for this type of accommodation), the atmosphere in the bar area is great and the locally sourced seasonal food is brilliant.
I've always found the staff really helpful and nothing has been too much trouble so I'm not sure why a couple of other reviewers have had a negative experience. Personally I liked it and enjoyed my stay, I'll stay here again when in the area and I'd recommend it to my friends.

This place looks cracked ng from the outside we were not disappointed with the he inside which CH was tastefully decorated.not busy but barmaid thought It was a better idea that go back off to wash glass's han serve us.she did not smile or attempt to be friendly or welcoming in any way...nor did the lad I ordered the food from a little later. We had a pork burger and a beef burger and thinking web were in for something a bit special due to the he price and the boast in the menu about everything being fresh/20 mins to prepare etc....sadly disappointed as burgers both dry as was the bun and not helped by being given a miniscule amount of tasteless coleslaw and relish.precious few chips. Delivered to the table by lady who clearly did not want to be there.also there was an unpleasant smell of sewage at the front an lower rear beer garden area.won't be going back any time soon ...

My wife and I visited here with a healthy appetite having played
golf in the afternoon. The premises are lovely but unfortunately that's where the compliments end! Despite being given a menu with a foreword in it saying what a wonderful atmosphere they create, the member of staff serving us could barely raise a smile. I ordered medium rare steak and my wife the sea bream. The steak was well done and when pointed out the waiter agreed and eventually took it away. He returned a little later to say it "looked pinker" in the kitchen and it was the light in the bar making look over cooked. I nearly suggested that I should eat in the kitchen! They replaced the steak but the new one was tough as old boots! In fairness they took the steak off of the bill without any fuss. In conclusion the service was poor and the portions tiny and it was over priced for the portion size. My wife's sea bream was nice but accompanied by a tiny portion of potatoes and veg. We did see a couple eating the fish and chips that did look nice. Won't be going back.

Stayed for a 3 day break whilst attending a two day Boat fishing comp and they catered for all our needs ( somewhere to store all our fishing gear, very, very early breakfasts and even cooked some of the fish we caught to perfection) Really comfortable rooms, lovely beer garden and extremely pleasant staff. Could not ask for anything more.

We visited the Quay inn for Sunday lunch, a lovely little pub well decorated. We ordered 2 roast beef dinners, we were informed it was rare which to us was great an not a problem. But when he came out it was not rare, the meal consisted of 2 slices of beef a couple of roast potatoes, and a homemade yorkie, the waitress then gave us a small dish with some carrots & squash in, we waited but no more veg was brought out, no sauces were offered. You would think for £9.25 you would get a bit more veg, maybe just something green would of been nice.
