Good news: it's cheap (and Newbury has more than its fair share of over-priced, mediocre hotels). And the room was clean and comfortable enough.

Bad news: the location - at a motorway service station. And the service ("May I borrow an iron and an ironing board?" "You can have an iron, but we don't have ironin boards so you'll have to iron it on the desk in the room." Honestly).
