Stayed here as a family of four + pooch, middle of April 2013. Weather was still cold but the Hotel room was really cosy. I'd packed thermals after reading other reviews but didn't need them as we never felt cold in the Hotel. Our stay was very quiet even though Hotel was busy. The staff are really helpful, very attentive and always had a lovely smile. Whilst the hotel is dated it remains excellent value for money and the breakfasts are great. The Conservatory is lovely (relatively new) and evening meals served there were great value. The draught beer (we had San Miguel I think) was really nice, well served and excellent value. Would go back again for a cheap break. There is a nice park next door and, whilst a lot of the rooms overlook terraced properties, we didn't go there to gaze out of the windows. All in all, felt it was very good value and it is lovely that the Staff are so helpful and happy. Even though we weren't asked to, we changed into outdoor/indoor shoes in the car park and wiped the dogs feet so we didn't cause any extra work for the busy cleaners. Swimming pool was OK but does look a little tired. Keep up the good work and thank you for a pleasant stay.
