“Cracking little B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012

Having read the excellent reviews for this b&b, we booked for two nights at Easter. We were not disappointed. The climb to the room was a bit of a challenge (but Karen had warned us in advance!!) and it was worth it. The room was spacious and had a great view. The facilities for making tea and coffee were great and the bathroom was roomy. Unlike many b&bs, the bed was really comfy and it was nice to have freeview channels on the TV. Breakfast was excellent. Karen made us feel really welcome and was very helpful. We will definitely go back!!

Room Tip: We loved the top room and would recommend it, as long as you are fit!!

We booked a weekend away and found a little gem of a guest house. Its right in the middle of town, parking was right outside the front door, Karen the owner made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The room was on the top floor, we even had a sea view! It was very clean with a lovely comfy bed. The decor was tastefully done.
The breakfast room has just been newly renovated to a very high standard. The "Full English" was cooked to perfection, you could tell it was top brand (M&S), with lovely bread toasted lightly. Fresh fruit and cereals were also in plentiful supply.
We will definitely be going back.

My girlfriend and I stayed for 2 nights B&B over the New Year. The Admiral is lovely little Guest House bang in the centre of town, the rooms are clean, tidy and nicely decorated. The breakfast is great, a big choice of cereal and the "Full English" is perfectly cooked from quality foods. The owner, Karen, is very friendly and helpful. We will be booking with her again, if we can get in!

My husband and myself have just returned from our second visit to the Admiral Hotel and before leaving once again we have booked for later in October. This is one of the best, if not the best guest house we have stayed in. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Karen the owner is very warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for her. The new breakfast room is really lovely, everything in it is very well presented and of good quality. The breakfast is one of the best - everything you could wish for on a 'full english'. There must be every cereal you could think of on offer together with a lovely bowl of fresh fruit salad and orange juice. You can have as much tea/coffee and toast as Karen always asks if you want more of either.

If you are visiting Scarborough for any reason I would recommend this B & B but book early because she has a very good reputation and is quite often full.

My partner and I stayed here for one night at the beginning of August 2011 and it was ideal! The location is excellent and the hostess is so friendly! It's a great, relaxing, friendly atmosphere and we were very comfortable. As we are in our 20s we were put on the top floor which we loved as it had a great view - you could just see the sea in the distance. We went for a meal and some drinks in the centre and it was a 5 minute walk back, if that. We also got a parking permit for the day which was superb. It's a clean hotel, the beds were so comfortable, we had a great stay. So much so that we have just booked to go back again in October!!! One thing I must say is that the breakfast in the morning was lovely!! With so much tea! All in all this is a great place to stay, would recommend to all!

Room Tip: Top floor has the best views but the stairs are steep!

After staying in other guesthouses, the Admiral has to be the best we have stayed in, Karen and the gang will do anything to make your stay the best it can be, the room we stayed in was well equiped spacious and very clean, ensuite with a seaview, the new breakfast room is fantastic and the breakfasts are excellent, lots of choice, FREE parking and FREE wi-fi from karen was much appreciated, ideally located for the train station and the shops, not too far to the beach either, the only downside is not staying for longer, thanks Karen we will be back.
