“Welcoming and cosey”

Stayed here for 2 nights in November and really enjoyed our stay! The room was on the top floor and the stairs were abit of a pain but this can't be helped. The room was very homely and had everything we needed and the staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful.
Overall would recommend this hotel but request a room on the lower floors if stairs aren't your thing. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

My partner and I stayed for a weekend break to celebrate a birthday. We had booked a sea view room and received an upgrade due to some work being carried out in the property. The room was very good and the views excellent. The staff were very good. Welcoming and very helpful. The décor is very tasteful. The breakfast menu was extensive and high quality.
Our room was on the top floor and was quite a hike to reach! There is no lift so beware. The mattress was slightly on the soft side for me.
However this is not a hotel but a superior B&B and should be judged accordingly. Overall it was up to expectations.

I grew up in Scarborough and my husband and I are regular visitors to Scarborough and always stay at the Mansion House Hotel. We have been coming for several years. We find the staff very helpful and friendly-nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast has everything you could possibly want-porridge,fruit, juices, cereals, pastries, cakes, full English and choice of other hot breakfast. There is always a daily special too, and unlimited tea, toast and coffee.
The premier seaview rooms at the front of the hotel are the best-spacious and with a wonderful view over the town. The rooms at the back do not have the view, but are very clean and comfortable. You are given a complimentary drink on arrival-which you can have at any time.
There is a warm, welcoming lounge, which has a variety of books, magazines, games and Dvds to borrow.tThe rooms we stayed in are well equipped with TV, dvd player, hair drier, lots of drawer and hanging space, mini bar and a lovely tray of complimentary tea, coffee, chocolate, horlicks, water and biscuits. We even chose to stay here for our 25th Wedding anniversary.
There are a lot of stairs, which are difficult to negotiate after a large breakfast, but we were told about them before hand. The hotel is an art gallery in miniature, with a huge selection of paintings of Scarborough decorating the walls.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for making our visits so enjoyable.
We have enjoyed all our visits here and look forward to many more in the future.

Room Tip: The rooms sea view rooms at the front of the hotel are the best.

Thank you very much for choosing to stay at the Mansion House Scarborough and for your very kind comments. The location of the Mansion House Scarborough on South Cliff means we have stunning sea views of the South Bay both from the lounge and all the front bedrooms. Therefore, next time you stay with us we hope you will choose a sea view room or maybe our new luxury apartment. Once again on behalf of all the staff thank you got staying with us and we look forward to welcoming you back to lovely Scarborough.

Just returned home after our second visit to the Mansion House, once again another lovely stay, a nice warm welcome when we arrived, we stayed in room 14 perfect for us spotlessly clean, plenty of tea and coffee in the hospitality tray and duck island toiletries in the bathroom which are my fave. Breakfast was delicious plenty of cereals, fruit, pastries and yoghurts, followed by a super full english made with top quality produce, there was a card to say which table we were sat at which had welcome back, which we thought was a nice touch. On our second day in the afternoon we had our complimentary glass of wine in the lounge sat looking at the lovely view of the bay on the comfy rocking chairs, i love these. All staff are friendly and helpful and we will be returning again and would recommend the Mansion House to anyone, look out for the deals they do on facebook worth every penny, Brilliant!!! Made our stay in Scarborough perfect, Thankyou.

Room Tip: Bet the sea view room are great.

On the whole I had a pleasant, warm and comfortable stay here. The level of cleanliness is very high and the interior...furniture, fixtures and fittings are high quality. The description of The Mansion House certainly lays out high standards and raises expectations beyond what is actually delivered. This is no hotel; there is no reception desk on entry and no bar;the only time I saw staff was when I formally summoned them by ringing a bell. During my stay there was no naturally occurring interaction with staff. The greeting on arrival was kept to the bare minimum; the complimentary drink was delivered as a mere formality and duly consumed in the lounge where there were no other signs of life! The servicing of the room wasn't without hitch, but once summoned from back and beyond, the staff were courteous and polite and effectively resolved the issues. Bed not the most comfortable; power sockets awkwardly located for kettle. Apparently, I discovered on departure that Louise had enjoyed a few days off...what a pity that there was no-one else with a personality that could have filled this void front of house. It is reassuring however that Louise listened carefully to my account and took the comments on board. I have no plans to return with the current arrangements.

Just stayed at Mansion House for 2 nights this weekend. Lovely relaxing stay helped by friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was plentiful and a great selection fruit juices, cereals, etc
We stayed in a twin room (no. 3) which was very clean, beds were comfortable and the bathroom was massive. There is a big living room, where you can enjoy our complimentary wine whilst looking out at sea over the bay towards the castle. It is close to the spa, which we thought was the nicer part of the beach. It is a 10 minute walk from town but that was fine for us
We will definately return. Highly recommended

We arrived on a blustery wet cold day but the welcome could not have been warmer! We were greeted by Louise with a big smile who proceeded to check us in with minimum fuss and showed us to our room. The room was very comfortable with excellent facilities, tea and coffee in ample supply along with bottles of water and biscuits, two dressing gowns placed lovingly on the bed and complementary post cards of Scarborough were a nice touch! There was a new Samsung TV and a DVD player, hair dryer, portable electric fan, a big wardrobe and drawers everything you would require for a relaxing stay. The bathroom was small in this room but perfectly adequate with lots of towels and toiletries, a shower over the bath which was amazing! We had a good quiet nights sleep and the bed was really comfy.

We couldn't fault the award winning full english breakfast which was cooked to perfection, there was a good choice of fruit and cereals and lots of other options on the menu.

We can't wait to go back and will probably stay for 2 nights next time in one of the sea view rooms which have a brilliant view of Scarborough!

Room Tip: For a good sea view ask for a room at the front of the hotel.
