We stayed in a delightful family room for 2 nights. A lovely hotel, excellent accommodation (clean, good facilities, nice furniture etc), great food (breakfast excellent), well priced and child friendly. Views from the lounge were spectacular over Scarborough Bay with an easy walk into town or the Spa. Plenty of free parking on the Esplanade. Staff very friendly and helpful - our children (half price meals!) appreciated the free access to internet and largescreen freeview TV in room. All in all, an extremely positive experience that made for a very relaxing weekend for us all. We will definitely use it again.

To start with it was my first trip away without the parents and so i was a little nervous about everything from travelling to the hotel, but once we arrived at the hotel my nerves were very much eased. Polite, friendly staff made us both feel very welcome from the moment we stepped through the door, and the room was wonderful. A nice, quiet, relaxing atmosphere met you everytime you walked in and made it feel like home. The hotel is situated overlooking the sea and shore and has a spectacular view, its easy to get to and from the centre of town and the sea front. I was expecting a lot from the hotel before i arrived there and it lived up to those expectations spectacularly. A wonderful place to stay. Unfortunatly we were there for only the weekend but would have liked to have stayed much longer, and we will definatly be returning in the future.

My 89 year old father has just returned from 4 nights with you, and we agree with you that he really should have had a carer with him ! However try telling that to a fiercely independant character. He has come back enthusing about the cleanliness and warmth of Mansion House Hotel, and the food, and the proximity of The Spa where he goes in the evenings for the music.
We are so grateful for your help in dealing with his mislaid coat, and now his flat keys, left behind , that, whilst accepting your claim that you are not a care home, we feel you have shown yourselves well qualified to be one.
this will probably be his last solo holiday, and he will remember it with total happiness.
Yours with many thanks,
Christine Fletcher

What an absolute gem - I didn't know there were any hotels in Scarborough like this! A cosy, comfortable, beautifully decorated and appointed hotel. The staff were all very friendly and efficient and nothing seemed to be any trouble to them. The evening meals were excellent value and well cooked and presented. The hotel is in a quiet area, set high on the South Cliff with an impressive view of Scarborough. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this hotel.

Having booked this hotel through Scarborough Tourist Board, I was rather concerned as it was for a group of us to stay for the Police Pensioners Association Annual Conference. What a lovely surprise! The owners were friendly and helpful as were all the staff, the rooms could not be faulted for cleanliness and comfert. The food in a morning was superb. My wife and I were over the moon and will definately stay there the next time we visit Scarborough, which will not be too long off.

A group of us stayed at the Mansion House Hotel for two nights and had a fantastic stay. From the warm welcome and the complimentary glass of wine to the spacious and nicely decorated rooms we were delighted with our choice. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We didn't eat an evening meal but the breakfast was lovely with a good choice. The location of the hotel is also great, on the quiet South Cliff with great view over the harbour and a short walk to the beach and town. Would definitely stay here again.

My cousin and I recently stayed for three nights and had a most enjoyable stay. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Tina, the manageress and offered a glass of wine or orange in the lounge. Our single rooms were back facing and a little small I thought but most comfortable. The restaurant staff were friendly and efficient while the traditional cooked breakfast was ample, we had two evening meals which were also good and not expensive. On the morning we were leaving there were complimentry chocolates on our table, ~ nice touch and the sign of a caring establishment. Value for money good and will hopefully come back again.

  • Liked — Friendly staff & good food
  • Disliked — small single room facing back yard
