“Honeymooners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

This was our second time at Ashburton House. The first time was 5 years ago when we had our first break away together as a new couple. Five years down the line we returned for our honeymoon and we had a brilliant stay. Staff lovely and friendly and a really nice breakfast....nothing is too much trouble, they leant us champagne glasses so we could have champagne in our room on our first night....definitely will be returning!!

Room Tip: Eating out on a budget?...Go to brewers fayre on Vernon road...near the shopping centre in town

My husband and I were welcomed by the owner who showed us to our room which was on the ground floor, a pleasant surprise. The room had a four poster bed, en suite, sofa and tv with basic sky channels Ample supply of tea and coffee. Central heating and two electric fires were in the room if needed. Everything in the room was very clean. Wifi was easily accessed as code was displayed on the writing desk. A choice of cooked breakfast was served in the dining room.
A plentiful supply of fruit yoghurt jams etc the owner was most helpful with regard to the bus service in Scarborough. i would like to recommend this guest house to other travellers.

First visit to the Ashburton and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was compact but clean and contained all the mod cons we needed for our one night stay. En-suite spotless and the shower was perfect. The breakfast was first class served by the friendly owner. Would recommend without reservation and will be returning on our next visit to the town.

This B & B was a good standard and clean, the proprietors were friendly and the choice of breakfast was excellent, spoiled only by noisy inconsiderate drunken jordies coming in late and extra noisy at breakfast but that's not Ashburton's fault. One thing to add though our room was on 2nd floor there did not appear to be a lift - we only had an overnight bag but I have a heart problem and so the stairs were a problem for me.

We had a beautiful spacious room with fair size ensuite. It was tastefully decorated and smelt lovely due to an electric air freshener. A nice touch. The owners are both lovely and very accomodating. The breakfast menu is fab and the food was great. Our only small gripe was the shower (we were room 10). It took a long time to reach a good temp. It was either boiling hot, or freezing cold. We would happily recommend.
