“An amazing park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

A great park hidden in Scarborough. Be sure to take a pedalo around the lake, visit the island, and see the cheesy but fun naval battle!

“Don't change a thing.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

Peasholm Park has been a big part of my life for over 50 years. I was taken there as a very small child to walk the treewalk which always had a couple of models which didn't light up or jammed when they moved. I remember the flea circus in the pagoda at the top of the island.
The naval warfare has always been great, especially when the operators wave from the battleships at the end. Any music always sounds better from the island bandstand ranging from brass bands to the Acoustic Gathering where every act seems to invite the audience to come closer until one idiot did and dived into the freezing lake. From junior school (Gladstone Road) we used to walk all the way through the park to go to swimming lessons at the outdoor North Bay pool. It was Tuesday evening and only cost 6d (2.5p) so it got called Barrowcliff bath night.
If you were lucky on the way down you saw the flasher we called the Winky Man.
Nowadays I just love that nothing much has changed. The friends of the park have done an amazing job tidying up and putting up information boards. I have suddenly become aware of trees that have been there over 100 years that are of international importance. The whole park sums up what is best about Scarborough. Please don't change a thing.

“lovely park, but....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

lovely park but please don't waste youre money on the navel war show, not very good models and the bloke on the organ was like someone from a 1970s 3rd rate working mens club.A waste of money. 4 stars for the park and scarborough, no stars for the navel show.

“Lovely park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

What a great way to spend a few hours, from the woodland walk down to the lake. Park on the road running up the side of the park, it's free. We hired a pedalo for half an hour which was nice, but be sure to walk across to the pagoda and gardens in the middle of the lake. In fact, take your lunch up here, it's a beautiful little spot (and less birds/squirrels to annoy you whilst you're eating your sandwich!)
