“What a let down!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

Chips were powdery inside and cold. The fish was nice and fresh but really small so it was just batter. Good location and we had a nice view whilst we sat in the restaurant.

Would have been happier paying £5 for them wrapped up on the beach in the rain!

“Over priced tiny portions.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

We went to Harry Ramsdens on a wet, windy january evening. Place was empty.

Food served was fairly average, but the portions were absolutely tiny. Chips at £1.99 are described as a bucket of chips on the menu, but is in fact a small pot with about 10 chips in it. We paid almost £30 for two main courses, two side orders, two teas and one soft drink. Too much for what is essentially a chippy tea.

No bread and butter available, in Harry Ramsdens!

We left feeling hungry. Harry Ramsden would turn in his grave if he visited the Scarborough branch.

“Come back was a let down!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

I visited Harry Ramsdens, Scarborough in the summer and it was brilliant so had no fear in coming back but what a let down! The woman in black who i assume to be the manager was stood in the back part passing food and shouting orders at the one waitress who was trying to greet people, take money, take drinks/food and clear tables ready for new waiting customers! As a manager i am shocked at the fact she didn't help her staff one bit! The waitress ran out of the restaurant at one point bringing back with her a new member of staff clearly from the take away section to help her clear tables! I felt for the poor girl especially when dealing with an understandably angry customer which to then the manager just hid in her hole!! I hope this waitress gets decent help soon or finds a job where she is treated with respect!

“The worst service I've ever had!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

We arrived to be seated in a cattle class rammed restaurant. We sat down and waited 15 minutes and no service. To top this sub standard service, a couple next to us came after and were served! What's that all about?!?! Our party decided to walk out. I'm glad we did as we found a warmer environment and a lot cheaper. Whatever you do, do not venture here. Harry would be furious he if knew the experience people were having!!

“Harry can "RAM-IT"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

We should have listened to the below reviews, all correct and accurate, after other tables been served before our table (as we were in the Restaurant 20 minutes before others) we had to find our own menu's from the counter near the Till. Made our order only to find it was wrong when it eventually arrived, it was over cooked, Cold Pea's, poor serving of Chips (scattered around plate to look more) small portions i.e. a very small fish @ £12.99 for Cod, this could have been other type of fish? When these meals arrived, we still had to ask for cutlery as there were none on our table, the waitress selvage them from other tables.
The Meals did not arrive all together either, some of our party were eating whilst others were still waiting. the kids received only three chicken nuggets each !! very poor serving!!!.for £5.00 each.
Whilst eating we could hear other customers at nearby tables also complaining of cold unacceptable meals, the Tea tasted of un-fresh water (lime scale water).
Would we going to Harry Ramsden's again= "NO WE WOULD NOT" I can think of far better things to waste £60+ on !!!!
