“Senior Fish and Chips”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

Had heard quite good reviews but came away disappointed.
The senior fish and chip dinner was as they said small....a very small serving indeed for £6 each.
The tiny portion of chips was also disappointing although the cod was of a reasonable standard.
The café itself seems to have no pretensions to be anything else but a small seaside fish and chip shop. There is no comparison to similar food served up the coast at Whitby.
If you are hungry do not go for the senior portion as you will come away wanting more.

“Quality cafe Fish and Chips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

This restaurant was a revelation. Immaculate with freshly prepared fish. Not a huge menu but all the traditional favourites. Clean and straightforward decor. Service was attentive but not over fussy. I ordered Cod with Chips and peas off the set menu which included tea and bread. All for just over £7.00. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked.

With all the plastic carton, poorly fried, larded up outlets that abound in Scarborough, the Lifeboat Fishbar is refreshingly traditional and puts the rest to shame.

“Well Worth A Visit -”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

We found this place because of Trip Advisor, it was a little late on Sunday evening of the Bank Holiday, they were about to close but rather than turning us away we were made to feel very welcome and were treated to a first class service and first class food. Ignore the reviews about decor and furnishings, the reason for going is to taste, savour and enjoy fantastic fish and chips and that is exactly what you get. The staff are friendly and it was the perfect end to a perfect short break in Scarborough. You must have it on your "to visit" list when in Scarborough.

“Underwhelmed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

Called in my own, quite a clean place, not cheap with a limited menu anyway must not grumble, ordered, got food, to start with the chips was the same chips used for a take away sausage and chips and not much given how much you paid, anyway at the end when i went to Pay i saw something what is disgusting, somebody ordered fish and chips, i saw them put the fish and chips in a normal take away tray andput them on the plate, so really your paying like 2 pound more for the same quantity as the take away is, lady just snatched cash out of my hand, no please or thankyou or nothing, shame really, never again

“Great Fish & Chips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

I had heard that this place was a good place to get fish & chips well, it is!

Fantastic. Well cooked, quick, clean and friendly staff. Look up the location on Google maps if you're coming to Scarborough and go here instead of anywhere else, believe me.

There's a car park right next to it too if you need to nip in/ out quickly.

Now my favourite!
