We stayed here for two nights whilst watching the motorbike racing at Olivers Mount (normally we camp up at the track but after last year being ruined by idiots smashing up the facilities we decided to B&B). We were a little worried about parking but were pleased to find out that we could park our three motorbikes on the roadside and did not have to worry about a permit - the only downside to the parking? - The 'deposits' from the seagulls!
The front of the guest house is lovely, beautiful flowers outside make the place really welcoming.
We received a lovely welcome from Paul on arrival and he showed us to our rooms, the double was ensuite and the single with a separate private shower and toilet. The rooms were spotlessly clean. He asked us on arrival if we would like the full breakfast the following morning, which we did.
The double room was very comfortable, althought the mattress a little soft (but thats just personal preference) and we were commenting on how lucky we were to have found the place.
Breakfast arrived piping hot and was really good - if you want something different on one morning, all you have to do is let Ann or Paul know the night before and they will sort it. They are more than willing to help with anything.
The guest house is a short distance from lovely Peasholme Park and the sea front. We walked into town along the North Marine Road, very pleasant in the sunshine.
The next morning was started with a smaller breakfast (ordered the night before) and we left, with Ann and Paul waving us off :). We will be coming to Scarborough again for the racing and will stay nowhere else. The next time though I think I might like a room overlooking the cricket ground as the view looks great.
Thank you both for a lovely stay, we will be back!!
A room overlooking the cricket ground would be a little quieter without the road noise.
