Myself, my family and our little dog have just returned from a three day break at Troutsdale Lodge and what a treat! we were struggling to find somewhere to stay at short notice for the August bank holiday but what a find! and at a very reasonable price too. The house is very edwardian, very 'oldie worldie' and wherever you look there's always something new to see, the room was very clean + cosy and so were the beds, what a peaceful nights sleep! The shower was powerful + hot and the 'lotions + potions' in the en-suite were a very nice touch, also the nice big white towels were a real treat. Our tea, coffee, bed-time drinks + milk were always plentyful + our beds were made and the rooms cleaned every day. The breakfast was lovey, tasty + very nicely presented, we had choice of cereals, fresh fruit + yoghurts to start, then a full english breakfast (or whatever combination to suit), nothing was too much trouble, toast + homemade jam or marmalade, piping hot tea or coffee. we were made to feel very welome in the house, being able to use the lounge + a lovely verander with views that never fail to amaze. we visited Whitby, Runswick bay, Scarborough + Saltburn-by-the-sea during our stay, we ate at a little village near-by (about 4 miles) where the food was great, big portions + reasonably priced too! To summarise my stay at Troutsdale Lodge i would have to say - peaceful, beautiful, homely + nothing was too much trouble. Clive looked after us all well, a true gentleman - credit where credits due.
