I stayed at "The Boston" for four nights , commencing Monday , 18th March , 2013 . The first , never mentioned problem , until we arrived , were the fifteen steep steps up to the only entrance . My room (12a) was very small , and looked down on peoples' back yards , bins , et cetera , and yet I was charged £20.00 "Single person suppliment" . Another lady had a large room (with a double bed she didn't want) & she was charged £15.00 extra ??? There were two male waiters in the dining room & the one , in particular , was far too brusque for my liking . (I spoke to him about it on a previous occasion & his answer was "Ah'm Yorksheer !" ) In all fairness , the food was good , but the manner in which it was served spoiled one's meals . I cannot recommend this hotel .A.C.M.C II . 1543/Sun/24/03/2013 . P.S. I tried to speak to the manager on three occasions , but never got a chance . (Talking on the 'phone , endlessly , twice , and ran off , "Busy" on the third ocassion . A.C.M.C. II . One hardly ever saw a member of staff , except at meal-times , or when a lad was behind the bar . A.C.M.C. II .

Room Tip: Avoid 12a at all costs !

Didn't know what to expect as this was booked by family for a family gathering, but was quite surprised.. asked for a Sea View as I had seen a photo on trip advisor from one of the bedrooms.
The room was a decent size, bed comfy, only thing was the shower, a bit hit and miss temperature wise.. The views were fantastic... Staff very polite , stayed for Bed & Breakfast, the brekky was quite nice, offered more hot drinks and toast ... would def stay again, £50 for a double room including breakfast

Room Tip: Ask for seaview, room 16/17 or even room 2

Clean, spacious and a good location for the beach. Parking could be difficult but besides that as a B&B board goes it was fine.
We had the fire alarm go off in the middle of the night but this was because of other guests so not the hotels issue as the porter quickly turned it off.

Quick thanks to the management who made us feel welcome.

We were on a Urquhart Travel weekend. This is a very friendly hotel but very basic. Our room was clean and bed linen spotless. Duvets were a bit thin but there were blankets in the wardrobe, so not much of a problem. The room had a good radiator which was very welcome as it was a bitterly cold weekend. Tea and coffee were supplied. The downside was the bathroom, which was very poky. The bath and sink were very small and the shower water only came out in a dribble.
The food was good and served very fast. Our waiter Josh was very efficient and friendly ( as were all the staff ) We were served a very presentable Christmas Dinner during our stay, which was a nice surprise.
We only went down for the entertainment on the 2nd night and were pleasantly surprised. Martin ( the barman ) called some bingo which was quite funny and then the singer was very good.
I dont want to give the Boston a bad review as it was ok but a little too basic for us. As I said before, the staff are brilliant and can't do enough for you, so if you don't mind basic facilities, give it a go.
