I write this review sitting in the lounge at the waves sitting next to the wonderful 70s style brown yellow and orange wallpaper. We first stayed here three years ago after finishing the Cleveland Way and liked it so much we have returned after finishing the Wolds Way.
The rooms are comfortable, airy, tastefully furnished and absolutely spotlessly clean.
The breakfasts are the best and most original I've come across. As well as the standards there are delights such as vege kedgeree, spinach and red pepper fritata, or waffles with banana and syrup (enough energy to walk to whitby and back).
The public areas are wonderfully quirky with a 60s/70s vibe, and anywhere thatcan play Nouvelle Vague over breakfast is fine in my book.
Add to that owner Kevern, who is always ready to chat/ sell you a copy of his book/advise where to visit or provide you with a treasure hunt around scarborough and you are on to a winner.
