“Little Gem in Scarborough”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

I booked 17 West Street for 18 friends and family all there to support my husband on the final stages of his 53 mile 'North sea trail' walk in aid of the Yorkshire Cancer centre(Leeds).
This place is perfect. It is in the nicest part of Scarborough. Plenty of free on road parking. There are 9 fabulous rooms, all spacious, tastefully decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean. Andy the owner worked really hard to make sure that we were well looked after. He cooked us a lovely tapas style buffet on our first night and kept the bar open until the last of us went to bed.
The inclusive breakfast was excellent. He uses locally produced award winning bacon and sausages, he also does a perfect poached egg!
We have stayed in 4 star hotels that weren't as good as this place. We will recommend to everyone and definately return.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 3- the largest bedroom that we've ever had in a hotel, I saw all of the other...

Absolutely fabulous! We stayed with a group of friends for 2 nights, finding the hotel perfect & so accomodating -nothing was too much trouble & we were very well looked after.
The room was spacious & the whole hotel was spotless & very tastefully decorated. We can say no more than we very much recommend & will definately return, the fact that 18 of us stayed & no complaints has to speak for itself.

We are a group of 18 people who were joining a friend who had one leg left of his charity walk, we all met in Scarborough to walk the last leg to Filey.
We were recommended to 17 West street and found the Hotel to be excellent, (yes hotel it could quite easily be one not just A B+B) Andy is a very friendly and hard working man and with reference to a previous comment his son is adorable.
The room are clean and modern the breakfast was good and location great for us. the price was very good too.
We had a great weekend and when we go back to Scarborough we will be staying with Andy again.

Recently stayed for two nights with my girlfriend, arriving as guests, leaving as friends.
The modern chic decor tastefully flows from room to room, the hosts two of the nicest people you will ever meet, Charlie one of the cutest babies you will ever see. The room was large with a great shower and bathroom. The cleanliness was immaculate. Andys breakfast was top notch, with local sausages (which we bought on the way home).
All in all a fantastic place to 'hang thee coyet up!'

Andy and micha deserve all the success in the world!

'Si su'

(As Charlie would say)

If you want a treat - this is the place!
Great, modern with a twist, welcoming and restful decor, superb location, and exceptional welcome ... efficient, friendly and entertaining hosts.
We had a memorable 3 night stay and people come back and back again.
... it took my husband's mind off a very stressful job interview for which we had travelled from the South Coast.. THAT tells you how special a place it really is.

Room Tip: They are all brilliant... really

We recently stayed at No 17 West while visiting family in Scarborough, we being myself and husband along with our 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter. From the moment we arrived Andrew and Mica made us all feel very welcome. The room was absolutely lovely, very spacious for the 4 of us. It was located in the top floor which was brilliant as I wasn't so worried about the children disturbing other guests!

Breakfast was lovely and they were very flexible with the time as well. I would highly recommend staying here, we certainly will be coming back!

We were not disappointed in our second stay here. The hotel itself and the hosts are excellent. The manager Andy and his staff can not do enough for you and we had a wonderful relaxing stay in a modern , comfortable B&B where the hosts could not be more friendly and helpful if they tried.

Room Tip: We have stayed in Rooms 1 and 4 and both were excellent.
