“B&B's don't get any better than this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

We were made very welcome at this pristine, well decorated and bright B&B. what lovely hosts and staff. They set us up with the best breakfast ever. We were offered extra coffee, toast and orange juice. Unlike other places where it is served in thimbles! The rooms were immaculate. Lots of clean towels and the bedding was freshly laundered. It has a lovely sitting room and off street parking. Can't fault if in any way. Just great.

A great find. A very good Bed & Breakfast. Spotless in all areas. The owners were very obliging. It was in a great, quiet position and within walking distance to the front. The breakfast was of a very good quality and plenty of it. We would not hesitate to recommend the Lysander and hope to return ourselves in the future. We requested information on eating establishments before we visited and Andy & Julie were kind enough to send us recommendations in order for us to book restaurants in advance, which was very helpful, especially as one of our fellow travelllers required gluten free options.

Room Tip: We had a" small double room" which was indeed small, but had everything we wanted. When w...

We arrived at the impressive Lysander in a great location. Greeted by Andy with some information about the area and where to see and good places to eat. The room was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The breakfast was just what we needed after a hard night on the slots hehe. Hilary was exceptional and made a fuss of us every morning. Everything was incredible and will defiantly be booking in the near future.

Having stayed at the Lysander recently I would recommend this hotel, very clean comfortable the breakfast was very tasty and the service was second to none, this hotel is friendly and near but not too near to the front, the sea front is within walking distance. The Lysander is a lovely place to stay if you are visiting Scrborough. The rooms are spotless. The staff are friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for your hosts, Andy & Julie. After one visit you will feel like you have known them for years, they make you so welcome. Try it and see, you won't be disappointed.

We will certainly be back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Go for a front room

Well I just have to say how very nice this hotel is, I stayed in room 19, a single and was comfortable and rested. I rather got carried away with walking and needed a shower and rest. Everything in the room was good quality and the shower worked fine. Having worked in the hotel industry I was surprised with the a good level of service that is provided here by the staff and owners. Next time I stay I will book direct with the Lysander and bring my husband!

Room Tip: ask for a lower floor if you have mobility problems and live in a bungalow!

Andy and Julie welcomed us lovingly, into their hotel. We could not fault the hotel, food and the staff! The rooms and washroom were brilliantly clean we could not fault one thing. Food was to die for, with a variety of home-cooked breakfast's: porridge, summer fruits with yogurt, waffles and of course full English breakfast. We can not wait until we return again to be spoiled by Andy and Julie and their outstanding staff. We already want to come back.

Room Tip: Front rooms have a wonderful view of Scarborough Castle.
