This isn't your usual travelodge set up.... its not purpose built like most - rather its an old hotel that the travelodge took over.. opposite a quite grand but very run down hotel on the seafront cliff.
We were given a room on the 2nd floor which was hot, no air, no sofa bed and just a view of a brick wall...
We wanted a sofa bed as it was a very hot weekend, I am pregnant and needed some extra room for my long pillow so I went down to speak to Ellie the receptionist - she was absolutely delightful and despite being very busy she found us a room on the 4th floor and gave us all the bedding for the extra bed and extra pillows.. which were very helpful
She was also on duty the following morning and enquired as to how I had had slept,. what a nice woman.
The seagulls were very noisy!! but the hotel did have a net around it so I can't really fault the hotel for this... just one of those things in being in a seaside resort I guess - just take ear plugs as they started about 5am and sound like young children shrieking!
For the price though, can't fault the location and the staff helpfulness.. its just the shabby hotel that lets it down.. stain on the walls, poor shower, no soap etc etc
