“My favourite day out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Used to go here as a child then took my kid on a number of occasions as he grew up. Hadn't been for several years until the other day and so glad I went once again. Just wandering round is so peaceful and there are several lovely relaxing walks starting from within the sanctuary. It's free and I'm hoping that visitors make a donation just like I always have but I doubt if everyone does. They should charge a couple of quid for car parking and this would help them even more without putting people off going. The donkeys are beautiful, so friendly and happy in their surroundings and I love walking round cuddling as many as I can. The Hayloft restaurant is very good value and does a mean BLT sandwich. Staff should be proud of what they do for the donkeys, looking forward to visiting again soon

“Donkeys, donkeys, everywhere...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Yes, it's a sanctuary for donkeys. Some donkeys are friendly, some are a bit stand-offish, or perhaps just busy doing donkey things. There are plenty of information boards about all things donkey. There is a shop (donkey souvenirs mainly) and a tea barn (fairly basic). Plenty of toilets about - it's quite a large site. Plenty of parking and there is no admission charge - just opportunities to donate (Adopt-a-Donkey and suchlike).

“A delightful day out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Its hard to top the donkey sanctuary for a lovely day out thats free, has wonderful walks, a maize and a good cafe. The good that the sanctuary does for the donkeys and for less able children is wonderful.

“lovely for families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

It is a lovely place to visit, there is no admission charge and you can walk around at your own leisure to look and stroke the donkeys. There is a cafe where there is a nice range of snacks and ice creams to buy for all. There is also a souvenier shop. They often have different events going on throughout the year which are enjoyable for all. A lovely day out with beautiful views and plenty of donkeys to see.

“Best free day out in the UK”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

There is no admission charge and this is a great visit for a gentle stroll through 800 donkeys, a pretty wood, down to Branscombe Bay and with a very nice cafe.
