“Great ice cream!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

This is a busy place which buzzes with life. The ice cream and coffee is excellent. Shame there are no toilets on site.

Thank you for your review, the lack of customer toilet is annoying. It is something we have inherited and can't change until we have a big re-fit, which we can't finance yet. There are public toilets just across the road and you are welcome to use our staff toilet. Thank you for your appreciation of the ice cream and coffee. :-)

“Special Ice Cream”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Although I have reviewed this as a cafe previously, this is a review specifically of the ice cream. To be precise it is a review of the 'Pink Grapefruit' ice cream. Having visited the cafe regularly over the last few, sun drenched weeks I always tend to go for the 'sorbet' type option. I tried the 'Pink Grapefruit' about 4 or 5 weeks ago and have been looking every week since to see if it had returned. Well it had this Saturday and boy was it worth it ! The rest of the family have ice creams here and they are extremely good value, properly made ice creams but I shall be looking out for 'Pink Grapefruit' for ever more ! Keep it up.

Thank you for your review. Pink grapefruit sorbet is also our supervisor's favourite - so you are in good company. We do have to put different flavours on as different people have different favourites - however you can order a tub to take home - 1/2 litre, 2 litre or 4.7 litre, a couple of days notice should be enough at this time of year. :-)

“Lovely service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

We found the staff to be cheerful and polite. The couple sitting next to me told the waitress " it is sunshine inside and out". Even though there was a long queue for the ice cream ( obviously very popular) the girls were smiling and efficient. I had a lovely cup of tea and would recommend it if you are visiting sidmouth.

“Spectacular ice cream”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Taste's ice cram really is special, and infinitely superior to the usual suspect misxtures of fat and air. Many of their flavours have won awards, and exploring those will help you decide what to choose - never easy. Ferrero Rocher ice cream sounds (a) unlikely and (b) ghastly, but don't be deceived: if the Ambassador had served this up at his receptions he'd have been fast-tracked to head of the Diplomatic Corps by now! Husband likes black cherry (another prize winner) and when I'm feeling healthy I switch to Mango Yoghurt. The young and funky appear to leave their surf boards only for the Mint with chocolate sprinkles (mixed with Ferrero Rocher if aspiring to be truly cool). The caramel seems popular, too.

Observations suggest the coffees are as popular as the ices if less obviously spectacular.

“Super visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Im so pleased to write a review about a business that has an excellent product (predominantly though not exclusively ice-cream) that manages to hold a queue of clients on our busy sunny Saturday visit trains their staff well (witnessed this whilst ice-cream selecting!) and still maintain sensible prices for their premium product.
Its a five out of five for me (butterscotch in sugar comb was dreamy and creamy!) and well done to the owner/Manager of the business. Would recommend a visit even if not a sunny day!
