“Disappointed - not the luxury accomodation I was expecting”

Have just spent a week in the Crocus holiday bungalow at Weston Bay. Was really looking forward to a relaxing week in luxurious surroundings, as per the advertisement. How disappointed was I. First impressions were not great. We were given a map to find our property and on our drive round noticed that a lot of the bungalows were completely empty, i.e no furniture. We identified our bungalow by the number in white plastic tape on the door of the outer building, Very classy.
Anyway, the bungalow itself was very nice and modern, nice wooden floors, spotlights etc, however, it looked like someone had been to a warehouse and just bought a load of stuff without thinking about whether it went together or not. So below is listed all the things which I was disappointed with for a holiday home that was advertised as being a luxurious getaway.
We had two hangers each, so had to ask for more
One small bath towel each, again had to ask for more, although it was pointed out to me that as we had a washing machine we could wash the ones that we were given, great I really wanted to spend my holiday washing
Two of the table lamps did not work so had to ask for new light bulbs. One of these was for the lamp in the double bedroom, yes, there was only one lamp in a double bedroom and this was covered in dust
The curtains in the bedrooms looked like they were from an old people's home and were so thin that we had trouble sleeping when it got light
There were pictures on the wall which did not go with the curtains and in the one bedroom it was just in an odd place which made we feel as though someone had just thrown it up
The duvet cover on one of the single beds was a foot longer in length that it needed to be, there was no valance on the base of the single beds, looked very cheap
The pillows were like rags
There was an extractor fan in the bathroom but no idea how it worked, so had to keep opening the window
We moved the settee and noticed that it was dirty underneath, the windows in the lounge were filthy, it looked like someone had slobbered all over them
Colander was dirty and so were some of the saucepans and cutlery
The kettle was full of limescale and the toaster looked like it had seen better days
The oven was dirty so much so that when we cooked in it the whole place stunk of fat
There was a dead spider stuck to the side of the display cabinet
There was a broom but I don't recall there being a dustpan to pick up any dirt
An iron but no ironing board
We found a brochure for the resort which mentioned a spa/swimming pool which was to be completed in 2010/2011. Thought lovely we will go and use it so phoned to find out where it was to be told that it was being refurbished. Great
The double bedroom had patio doors, lovely except this was next to a pathway which the people next door used to get to their car, so no privacy
So, to summarise, I think this could be a lovely holiday home but a lot of attention to detail is needed. As it stands now it should no way be advertised as luxury accommodation.
