Romantic weekend booked well in advance with a big gulp taken at the price in the hope that the hotel was special.
View of Sidmouth excellent - great for sitting and watching the weather from the lounge.
Hotel not special, room average, website room types so complex a challenge to work out what you are paying for - hence no sea view, very small room.
Hotel has very many staff, overall nice folks but they do seem to spring out every time you turn around - were we being followed ?.
Spa small, pool for 4, hot tub for 2, sauna cold throguhout stay and from damp smell rarley gets hot.
Breakfast, reasonable, cooked to order with buffet accompanyments. Dinner set menu - from 1960 only - no vegetarian options ( NO FISH DOES NOT COUNT) , no light meals in lounge, dining room jacket and tie only - good job the nearby town has lots of options for 21st C dining.
Parking limited, outside pool looked great in season, big tennis court, full pool table.
Lots of steps on site, on a steep hill - no WIFI without payment.
